I joined LA Fitness and signed up for their personal training.  Approximately one month later, I was laid off and found a new job that did not pay as much.  I asked the front desk if I could speak to the manager and was told that she was "running errands" and would be back in 30 minutes.  After waiting for two hours, I finally spoke to the manager who said that cancellation of my membership would not be a good idea and to just reduce the amount of training sessions.  I told her that I did not want to do that and that I didn't want to take a chance spending this kind of money during these hard economic times.  She then called me "weak" and said that I was "just giving into the system".

I went home and logged into my account on Lafitness.com and printed out a cancellation form and sent it in with the intent of A) Cancelling my membership and training sessions and B) paying for half of my remaining training sessions (per the contract that I signed at the beginning of this fiasco).  I received an email 4 days later from LA fitness stating that they had received the cancellation notice and also gave me an amount due for both the training sessions and the membership.  One month later, I check my bank account and LA fitness charged me FULL price for a training session.  I called them and was told that my name was not in the database.  I asked them that if my name was not in the database, how could I get a bill from them?  I still do not have this resolved.
