I set an appointment so I could obtain my first pair of contact lenses. They actually convinced me to order regular glasses and order the contacts in Jan 05 as it would work better with the insurance. I had buyers regret and called them back and asked that the glasses be canceled and to order the contacts. During this visit I paid $270.00.

Once they arived I was called in for a fitting, the first pair did not do the job so another pair was ordered. The second pair did not fix (kept poping out) so I went back again.

The doctor told me the process could take several more attempts to get the right fitting. I explained to Dr. Hixson that I did not care to complete this process and would rather order regular glassess. He told me he was "dissapointed in me" and next time at least wear the lens for a half hour. I was pretty bitter after this visit as the doctor did not respect my wishes and had the nerve to talk to me like a child.

When I received the next call I was out of town and the whole thing fell to the back burner. Ironically, my wife asked if I ever received a refund and I told her I would call the next day. In the mail that day was a generic card from La Mesa Dental outlining their service and thanking me for thier business.

The next day, around 05/09,their office called me to let me know they had been trying to contact me. They asked that I come in and get another fitting, I explained that I was not happy with thier services and actually wanted a refund. She put me on hold and transfered me to the office manager.

The office manager, whom I beleive is Jill, tried to deduct all their services they provided. She wanted to refund me something like $60.00. I was instantly upset as she was tring to deduct services that my insurance company already paid for. When I popinted this out she played dumb and told me she would run the numbers and call me back.

Of course she did not call me back, I waited 2 business days and called her back. She came to the conclusion that I was owed a refund of $190.00 and that she would send the check out. I am not sure how she came to the $190.00 as she kept stating different numbers and retracting herself.

Anways... I am still waiting for my refund! Once I receive it I will contact my insurance company and explain to them my experience and to ensure that the $190.00 is accurate.

If it is not then I will contact the BBB and file a complaint with my insurance company and the appropriate state authority.

More than anyhing, it still bothers me that they never wanted to know why I was not satisfied and wished to cancel their service. I ended up going to Sears and getting a great pair of glass with at least half the mark up and above all, their staff was friendly and helpful.
