I have been overweight most of my life and always trying to diet with no luck. A friend advised me to try LA Weight Loss (now Pure Weight Loss). I made an appointment, was lured in by all the facts and hype presented to me , and then signed a "Care Credit" card application for $2,000 to cover the cost of my "lites" energy bars. Prepaying was not exactly my choice, but they said it had to be done to insure my committment to the program.

I did begin to lose some weight and was gaining confidence in the program. I am diabetic and am also suffering from depression. I was going through some difficult personal problems and fell 'Off the wagon" a few times. But I was also determined to get back on track. They convinced me that I would need nore lites to make up for the time I had slipped up and to reach my Goal Weight. So they told me to charge yet more lites to the Care Credit because they were changing their name to Pure Weight Loss and all products with the La name were on sale - a real "bargain". Then they put me on a "hold status" until I was ready to restart my program.

I decide today , January 8, 2008 to get back on the program. I stopped at the Wilkes-Barre center only to find 2 notes on the door suggesting clients to try other weight loss programs that would honor any time left on our contracts.

I was so shocked to find this! They never called or mailed any notification of their closing to me. I owe a lot of money for those lites, not counting the interest on the credit card. I was supposed to be on this program for a year or two. How do I get a refund so I can pay the credit card what I owe?
Where do I begin to get information on how to proceed? Is there anyone out there who can advise me?

I feel so betrayed and stupid.
