La Weight Loss Delayed Refund Until Company Closed Their Doors Bentonville Arkansas
I joined La Weight Loss in May 2007, I went all out. Spent around $2200. After 12 weeks I had lost 50 lbs!! It was great, I was losing on average--5lbs a week. By the end of the July I had begun to have trouble breathing, to the point that I had to go to the emergency room--I thought I was having a heart attack. Long story short--gall stones, acute case. Caused by rapid weight loss. When I told them at the center, they said "oh, yeah a lot of people get them on the program". Now, they knew I was losing double the recommended amount per week and they said nothing. Just encouraged me more. The center told me I would need to take off the program for 6 wks after my surgery to remove my gall bladder. When I returned to the center, it was to find it closed and they wanted me to drive 30 miles to attend another. I stated it would not work, due to the hours of operations--only open Monday, Wednesday and Friday 9:00-4:00. They encouraged me to file for a refund. That was October. They have been stringing me along since, with promises of a refund to come in just a few weeks. Imagine my surprise when I tried to call them today with no luck. So I went online to find they had closed all centers. I am now out $1900 for the refund I never recieved and about $20,000 from surgery (me and insurance company combined). If anyone is aware of a lawsuit, please advise.
