A "counselor" quoted me a hefy fee for "guaranteed" weight loss. I paid with a check and was told to come back in 2 days after they consulted with their dietitian about a diet for me. Then I was told I had to pay more for supplements and foods. I paid over $600 initially.

None of the supplements would work for me due to either allergies to the ingredients or other health issues. In addition, some of the supplements were very expensive simple vitamin products which I already had. I ended up paying almost $100 for a bottle of some kind of supplement which I later returned. I later found out (not in print on contract) that there are no refunds under any circumstances for anything. They will only exchange products.

The diet did not work for me due to health reasons and they admitted it a few months later, but still no refund was allowed. I have now decided to take them to small claims court. I found a website detailing a lawsuit settlement in Washington for the same issues of fraudulent fee representation. In the state of Washington, a former client can get a full refund. I intend to take this info to court to show how this company deceives people about its fees.

The company is a money pit. They offer a guarantee but is not backed up with money back. They only say that if you don't lose the weight you want to lose, they will continue working with you for a few more months but only if you purchase additional, expensive supplements and expensive candy bars, which are similar to store-bought candy bars (sugar-free) except 3 times the cost. I refused to eat their candy bars or drink their liquid stuff due to horrible taste.

The program does not work for women who are pre-menopausal or menopausal. I did not find this out until a few months after I already paid over $600 for the fees and supplements. Then they admitted that the program does not work for menopausal women but still refused to give me back my money.

Dear Friend,

I was a Manager of an LA Weight Loss in the East. You are right. Alot of women your age had a very hard time losing weight. We were told often that you must be lieing to us, not writing in your diary etc and to call the "dietican". Let me tell you that the "dietican" is only certified through LA Weight Loss and no one else. All they do is read off ideas from a computer prompter. "Less Beef" Extra H2O for three days, redo the "prep" phase, etc.
To get your refund, try taking it to the corporate level. First, call your center and get a copy of your file. It is legal for you to do so, but they will try to get you not to do it. Then, read over it, See what it says. Read your contract. You have 30 days to cancel most likely and will be charged for the days after that. Get the Corporate Boss and send them faxes and call them. Let them know what you are doing. The company has protocal for people with high bp or thyroid med. or taking horomones. If you were sold certain pills like fat burners or trimax then you got a good lawsuit on your hands. I wish you much luck, don't expect your money back from the company. It will be a cold day in hell before that happens. Go file a claim!
