Complaint Review: Labcorp

I went through 2-years of complete he** trying to stay alive until someone figured out what was wrong with me. After I was diagnosed I had to go to Labcorp pretty much every other month. I walked in one day and was told they would not draw blood as I hadn't paid my $20 bill. I apologised and realized that particular bill had slipped past me (I was physically exhausted because of my condition) told them I'd pay it then an there, in cash, and was told they don't take cash, to come back after I'd paid it. That was a night of fasting wasted, which affected me physically. I called their toll free number, was told that I was given the wrong info, that I could have paid cash there, and to go back. I was treated well when I went back.

One day I was asked for my debit card, and I asked what the charge would be so I could make sure I added it to my register, not to mention make sure I had the amount in the bank (I was paying out ALOT in co-pays and for meds). I was told I would know what the charges were when I received a statement in the mail. Not a bill, but a statement. I asked, "So you're telling me that I'll know how much you've charged me when you tell me how much you've already deducted sometime in the future?" She rudely said yes, and if I didn't give them my debit card to keep on file then to leave because they wouldn't help me. Wow. I mean seriously...WOW! Never in my life have I paid for a service before it's been rendered. I have a degree from a private university, have been in the business world for quite some time, and have never heard of anything like this before. What could I do? I handed over my debit card then received a piece of paper from the tech saying that I would receive a letter from Labcorp telling me how much they'd deducted and that it could be up to $200. WHAT?!

This is the first month that I've had a positive balance in my account for a couple of years. I had life saving surgery, and don't have the huge number of doctor visits & meds that I had to pay for before. Guess what happened....? Yep. Labcorp worked their magic and BAM! Insufficient funds.

I'm going to ask my doctor if I can go to the hospital's lab from now on. This is ridiculous, and if there's a class action suit against Labcorp for unfair business practices, I want in on it!

Also...I've read some of the rebuttals. Maybe the people trying to defend these unscrupulous businesses practices by Labcorp should try spell check.
