My business received several calls from the "Labor Law Compliance Institute"- bottomline- they try to scare you into ordering 3 posters , inferring that if you don't order them your business will be shut down and you will be fined several thousand dollars. If you refuse them- they ship them anyways COD, and they hope to then talk an employee into keeping them and try to get a credit card number or a check for an outrageous amount of money. THESE POSTERS ARE AVAILABLE FREE FROM MY STATE!!! They reached one of my employees who thought they were a "gov't agency", and were successful in ripping us off for 142.99 cents.

They are very slick, very convincing, and they will be calling your small business to try this same SCAM on you!

BEWARE of the Labor Law Compliance Institute--- a ripoff racket!!!!!!

These heathens called me too. They get business license info from the State, then they call like they are the IRS and to avoid paying a huge fine you nust buy there worthless posters. Record them saying they are Federal agents, then contact consumer fraud divisions in you State, and the The FBI. Im personating a Federal agent is a class D felony. Minimum of 1 year and up to a 25 thousand dollar fine. Drifter, gypsies, and all round scumbags.

Like most of the other posters, I received a call telling me I needed these posters to be in compliance. The difference is, I asked the person specifically if she was actually with the government and she said that she was. This company is a scam. Unfortunately I got gouged for 189.99. I am going back to my CC company to get the charge reversed, but I am sure it will be a fight.

As a consumer, and if you are targeted as a business owner which this scam targets, please use your head. The power of the internet is amazing. 1st Google result of "Labor Law Compliance Inst." brought me right here. Anyone emailing you "Labor law compliance" should not be coming from AOL.com. That's the email I got..llcioffl@aol.com. Although the lack of intelligence in this scam surprises me to. ATTENTION SCAMMERS! Don't send the same email to 7 people in one message. We can see who your sending to :) I figured I would be the helpful guy and click "Reply All" button with a link to this page in it. As the others said you can get these documents for your business for free from your state, I've yet to get mine but I have no employees yet. Please people use your heads, this company is reported to make $150,000.00 per year with an approx employee count of 2 (according to Mantra.com). That is easy money off the stupid gullible people.

I have no affiliation with the company... not an owner, not an ex-employee... none of that. But I purchased the posters offered for approximately $170, and it is a service that I realized that I could probably get for free somewhere. But I simply don't have the time to do that. I got my posters... they look good, they're laminated, and now I'm in compliance... and honestly, I'm thankful they called and offered the service... I didn't even know I wasn't abiding by the law in the first place. I'm a contractor and don't have time to get in front of the computer and mess with stuff like that.
-
- Just my opinion.
-
I know you have to pay for the service, but it's not like you don't ever get what they say they are going to send you. You do get the posters in the mail, and you post them in your business.
-
- I know I could go to the grocery store and buy a whole chicken for $5.00, yet I sometimes go to McDonald's and buy just one sandwich for $5.00... it's convenient and time-saving, so, I do it.
-
Bottom line, you could invest your own time and do it yourself for free ... sure. But if it takes you more than two hours to find and order what you need, in my book, it's not worth it. You gotta think about time value of money. Unless you got all day to mess around and find what you need, then go for it. I don't have free time like that.

My business has gotten numerous calls from this company as well. The caller ID comes up with 775-427-3264 and just says Las Vegas. They say they are with "Labor Law Compliance" and they are contracted with the federal government. My wife, who is technically the owner of the company, spoke to them the first time and was convinced that we needed to purchase these posters. I was very skeptical and told her to let me talk to them. The lady on the phone was very ambiguous and didn't seem to answer my questions. I asked her why I would purchase posters that were provided for free from the government. She told me that those were only the state posters and that I needed the federal ones. When she told me she wanted one hundred some-odd dollars I just laughed. I told her that I knew she was a scam and to not call again. She has called at least half a dozen more times and every time asks for my wife. We recognize the number so I always answer when she calls and half the time she just hangs up.

I did some research to be certain and any federal poster can be found online (at a government website) at www.dol.gov. They will ask you questions about your business to determine what posters you need. Don't be fooled into paying a lot of money for something the government gives you absolutely free.
