While living in Layton in November I signed up with a gym called Lady Fitness. When I had signed up I had told the girl, Taylor, that I may be moving. She told me if i moved they would transfer me to another gym. I moved a week after signing a contract with that gym. When I had told Lady Fitness I was relocating and wanted to transfer they told me that wasn't possible, but I could cancel my membership for $50. I spoke with a manager there and she told me the fee would be waived I just would need to send in two proofs of move, so I did. Three months later, I noticed the monthly $20 fee was charged to my bank account. When I had called the national fitness hotline I was told they didn't receive my e-mail so I would not be reimbursed for my $20 but they would cancel my membership at no charge if I sent in the two proofs. So again I sent in the two proofs of move and called them to verify they were received, which they were but now they had said not only did I owe the $50 cancellation fee, it is 20% of the original contract so I would have to pay $141. I called Lady Fitness today and spoke with another manager and she says since there is no proof that they told me the fee would be waived, I would have to pay the $141 today and then they will stop billing my bank account for the $20/a month. Obviously I am not okay with paying these fees when I was told different things.

Lady Fitness of Utah are not customer friendly

Krystal,
I have also been having trouble with Lady Fitness, but with the West Haven (Roy) facility. I belonged to the Layton gym for 2 years and have belonged to the West Haven site for 4, a total of 6 years. I have paid my dues faithfully and have been a consistent gym user. They seem to want nothing to do with me now that I have a problem. My husband is out of work and I just wanted to know if there was a way to defer my membership or cancel it under special circumstances. The only option they have offered me is to do a 3 month freeze. This would not allow me to use the gym for 3 months, but I would still be required to pay my membership fees during those 3 months. I am told the 3 months will be added free on the end of my membership contract time. This seems ridiculous and unhelpful to everyone involved. Why offer a freeze, but still require members to pay? I have also found other problems with this company, many people having the same problem you did.
