LAIJIAN RUAN NYclaptoptech R&R Computers Logic board "exchange program" is a scam. Refurbished and unsafe part shipped. Local Apple repair stated fans ran hot and was unsafe. Laijian Ruan engaged in snarky "he said, she said" eBay messages, insisted part was tested and worked properly and repeatedly bashed local Mac Authorized Service Provider capabilities who recommended eBay link to NYclaptop. I needed a logic board for my Mac. My local repair shop referred NYclaptop seller with an eBay link. IThinking I was ordering a part directly, didn’t expect and “exchange program" at half cost of a full motherboard. I felt uncomfortable with sending my laptop or motherboard to Brooklyn NY for repair. To expedite, I asked if I buy the logic board at full price, and have my local Mac shop repair. Two PayPal transactions were made a day apart. Initial at $205.15 via eBay & on Jan. 24 2018, and $280 Jan. 25, 2018 as PayPal money request for balance to buy “straight up” to quote the seller. Though the part shipped quickly, once installed my local repair shop stated the laptop fans ran too hot after due to a faulty refurbished part and was unsafe. The Mac repair shop owner/operator requested I contact the eBay seller to return for refund. Seller’s language was immature and snarky, and repeatedly bashed the service capabilities of the very shop that had sent many customers to him prior. I examined a flyer which accompanied the logic board, with a business card attached from R&R Computers. The flyer shouted three different times: “Don’t open a request in any cases” but rather send email to: sales@nyclatptoptech.com or use eBay messages “other” section. Business card stated eBay id:mrcompter, email:roy881229@hotmail.com. RED FLAG.
After Googling R&R Computer, I discover 5 previously dissatisfied customers under Ripoff Report under Laijian Ruan: 1718 64th St. Brooklyn NY 11204. Once searching for a new, not refurbished logic board, I found the seller’s graphic numerous times under different names on eBay. Concerned, I requested a full refund. Theseller was snarky and unprofessional indicating my local repair shop as unknowledgeable. I pressed for a full refund stating the amounts of the two transactions. NYclaptop finally gave a partial refund of $205.15 on Feb 2. Knowing I’d found his outfit on Rip Off Report, I eBay messaged, thanked him for the partial refund and pressed for a complete refund for the $280 outstanding via PayPal. He finally compiled Feb. 3 but not without stating the part worked perfectly and told me to send the laptop and he’d find out the problem, and again, bashed my local repair shop. My referral has had excellent service for 11 years as a Mac only Apple Authorized Service Provider. Note: Per email address, nyclaptoptech.com is not a valid domain. Based on the 5 previous Rip Off Reports alone, R&R Computers/ LAIJIAN RUAN/ NYclaptoptech should no longer be allowed to do business.
