We recentely visited Lake Holiday Campgrounds.We rented a trailer for 3 nights.They use to be a jellystone campgrounds but but became independant about 8 months ago!It was the worst 4 days of camping we have ever had!!
When we arrived the first night we were dissapointed to find the lot grass uncut and 4 foot weeds along the side of the trailer!We got inside the trailer the kitchen sink was clogged,the air conditioner was blowing warm air,the window cranks were broke on 80% of the windows,most of the doors were broke or wouldnt slide!
We were there for about 2 hours when the trailer lost all power,so we had no air which wasnt much good anyway, but the refrigerator was out where we had our food stored.We contacted the park manager,after waiting 45 minutes a young maintenance man came but didnt know what to do!He told us we would have to pack everything up and move to a different sight.We had just unpacked everything and also put up a tent.I took it upon myself to check the indoor and outdoor breaker boxs finding the outer breaker blown!
The temp. was about 95 degrees and humid with no relief inside the trailer!The power was off for at least 2 hours,after getting it back on and having to ice down all our food we decided to rent a golf cart for a 2 hour period! They wanted a $100.00 deposite for the golf cart plus 18 dollars per hour.So i gave them my credit card and got the cart.After the 2 hours was up and returning the cart 5 minutes early,they refused to refund my deposite because of a scuff mark on the front of the bumper,which had to of been there before we rented it.
On the second day we were there the lights flickered and all the outlets in the back bedroom quit working,and the lightbulb blew in the bedroom too.We reported it to the manager but no one ever came to fix either one.We felt very unsafe staying there with the electrical problems.We didnt sleep much because it was to hot and we were worried about a electrical fire!
The staff was very rude and uncooperative about everything!I would not recommend Lake Holiday Campgrounds to any of my family or friends nor my enemies!They really suck and every time we went up to the store there were at least 8 maintenance men or i should say boys standing around talking or shouting things at young women or girls that walked past!
When i reserved the trailer i needed a $100.00 deposite to save this so called trailer.I really dont expect to get that back either!So this three day camping weekend ended up costing me $500. not counting food or any other expenses,just for trailer and a 2 hour golf cart rental!
