This guy is a real gem among contractors. Guess his being a part time farmer should of tripped a flag. We spend almost 500k on a custom home only to come and find out the forgot basic things like nailing the floor joists to the basement sill plate. Started when the floors started to dip and sag, and proceeded to get worse.
Ended up after 2 years we were forced into Chap 7, lost the house and everything else we had, including the marriage. He's nailed (pun) quite a few others in the LaSalle / Peru area, but only one has gotten to trial and that's been an ordeal.
This guy continues to build houses, even when prospective customers call for a reference and are told about him they still sign on. Found this site and decided to air my beef. No real recourse left that I've found, but decided to vent.

Be careful ! I would not want anyone to go through what we did in Saint Charles Illinois.
We REGRET building with Perillium Homes. Stephen Lane is now doing business as Lane Custom Homes.
This man (person) could give a heck that he RIPPED US OFF. That's why I'm telling everyone !
