Complaint Review: Landmark Art And Frames/ Art Options Inc

I recently went through the interview process with this company and it just doesn't seem like the most legit way to make a dollar.

The first interview was very brief and a little vague about what exactly it was that I was expected to do on a daily basis, but, I figured maybe I was just being overly skeptical...

I came back on a different day for my second "interview" which was basically a full day of working for free. I was with my trainer for almost 9 hours. Basically the job has you loading up your car with various prints and driving out to various locations throughout central Florida and walking door to door (we only did businesses, but, I was told that on the weekends employees hit residental areas). I felt waaay uncomfortable. Several of the businesses we went into had No Solicitng signs clearly posted. I also had to listen to lectures on how most people are just "cows" who will settle in the pasture and let life pass them by while people who sell art prints for a living are "rhinos" and will charge forward... blahblahblah. Take notes, you will be quizzed at the end (seriously).

The only benefits mentioned are one week of paid vaction where the higher ups in the company pay for everyone to party in the Caribbean... if I only get one vacation a year, I certainly don't want to spend it with people I work with... maybe that's just me.

It seemed like a cult or something. Everybody seemed so brainwashed and all the forced cheesiness was making me gag. If you really want to try this job out, then hey, go for it. You have to be really motivated and you apparently can make a decent living. Just don't drink the Kool-Aid.
