After doing my research I decided to purchase and go with LapLink. I purchased the LapLink PC mover to transfer all data from my old computer to the new computer, supposedly highly recommended. I called LapLink in advance to ask about their technical support; as I am not that computer literate. Just a basic user.

I was informed, "oh yes" free tech support to assist all through the process. Was quite excited and relieved with this answer. I was informed that if; along the way a problem occured and an evaluation had to be performed, there would be a fee. At this point I am starting to question(in my mind).

About an hour into the process "a problem occured." Having remote assist for the technical support, my computer was basically in their hands; which I agreed to. Great, let them do all the manuvering so that I don't mess it up. The problem was that my old computer "froze Up" on their side of remote assist. They could not continue with the process. I was then switched to a supervisor who was then going to inform me of my "options" to remedy this.

The option(s) was to pay monies to evaluate the problem and then continue with performing the service. Either $99.95 (premium) or $69..95 (least expensive) I opted for the later just about in tears. At this point we had been on the phone for about 2 hours.

After paying the $69.95 out of my debit card, and the monies were approved on their side, a MIRACLE happen my computer un-froze. Imagine my surprise!

The tech continued to perform the service. The end result was: They were unable to transfer data from old to new computer, the tech informed that a "clean-up" would be done on my old computer(for me) . I said so: "It will be like having a clutter free, smooth running and almost new computer?" the answer was yes.

When all was finished I shut down my computer to give it and me (especially) a well needed rest. Later in the evening I went to use the computer. Couldn't access Internet for 4 minutes, couldn't access anything for at least 4 to 5 minutes. Got back  on the phone with tech support spent more wasted time of which nothing could be resolved. I was informed that a Level 2 Tech would call me the next day to continue with me.

Previous to all of this I noticed that there were two additional programs that had been installed on my computer. I asked the tech if it was necessary for them to be there and was told "Oh yes it's ok, not to worry." After much thought about why my computer was failing me so, I decided to erase the two additional programs to see if that would make a difference. Another MIRACLE, it worked, my computer was back to itself again but I wasn't.

I was left poorer(widow on benefits) going to have to eat cat food for the next week(said in jest) and a banging headache to beat the band. That's my story, sad but ever so true and thank you for letting me share it on your space and time. I HIGHLY do not recommend LapLink or their services.

Respectfully,
