Was looking to buy a cheap laptop just to play games on while on out of town trips. No email, nothing but games. Got online and found Laptop Outlet. Purchased an IBM thinkpad. Recieved the unit and from the beginning I got a message error.

Took the unit to my local computer guy and he almost refused to work on it due to the fact that ALL of the identifying numbers, model #, serial #, etc was stripped from it. When I showed him that I had bought it from the internet legitimately he still refused to work on it because it was a motherboard error and it wouldn't be worth it to tear it down.

Contacted Laptop Outlet and the guy said he would send another hard drive. That has been two months ago.
It is clear to me now that I have basically been ripped off. This may not be the most effective way of 'fighting back' but I appreciate that this site is here to give us a forum to identify these shysters. I wish I has come here first.
