I contacted Event Sales on 3OCT2019, I ordered 200 chairs and 24 tables for a total of $9,600. I paid by (2) echecks, which Larry Hoffman created. I elected to pay by check, rather than incur an additional 3% fee for paying by card.
He gave some reason for why he had to split the payment up into two checks and I didn't think anything of it. The checks he created were initially made out to LAJ Enterprises and Event Sales that he sent to me for review.
The checks were actually issued to LAJ Enterprises and to Lawrence Hoffman. The website promised that most orders ship within 24 hours, I had an event that I needed the chairs for by the end of October and Larry promised me they would be there by then.
After receiving the money, Larry continuously dodged calls and made excuses why the tables and chairs had not shipped yet. At one point he sent me bogus shipping documents that did not check out with the company he listed.
When he missed the deadline to get tables and chairs to me, he promised to reimburse the rental fee for tables and chairs. A couple more weeks went by and still had not received tables/chairs. Finally I conducted an internet search of the company and found over 80 reviews for Larry's various companies and his name on ripoff report as well as other websites.

I have been contacting him often and demanding a refund, which he has promised to send, but has again been dodging calls and making excuses. He has provided a tracking number for a usps shipment, but then never dropped the check off at the post office.
I have all the emails and documentation and would be happy to provide them for an investigation or class action lawsuit. I have submitted complaints with both the FTC and California BBB.
