Larry Miller Hyundai Dishonest Thieves Peoria Arizona
The second I walked into Larry Miller Hyundai I told the sales team I DO NOT HAVE ANY DOWN PAYMENT. I repeated this about 10 times throughout the day as well. I have excellent credit but no existing loans or debt, so I knew I would have no problem getting financed through a dealer. And I didn't, we agreed on a 07 Camry with low interest, reasonable payments, and with no down payment, so I was pleased.
When my fiance and I got into the finance room, we happily started to sign contracts etc. I had Gap, maintance, and warrenty included in my payment so all was well. I signed the contract, but before I handed it back, my fiance noticed it said we were putting $1000 down. I told the finance jerk, this is not right we agreed on no down payment. He looked and said I was right and said let me print out another. He left the room and said he was going to shred the first contract and then came back and printed out a new one. I signed it and went home with my new car.
About 3 days later, a woman from the dealership called and said "we are showing you were supposed to put down a $1000?" I said exuse me!? Then I went on to tell her what happened with the finance scam aritist and how he at first wrote up the contract wrong but then corrected it. She said she would look into and call me back. I never heard anything from them again. Two weeks later, I knew my first payment was due in a couple days and had not received a bill yet. So I call the finance jerk and asked what is going on? He looks it up and says I WAS SUPPOSED TO PUT 1000 DOWN. I told him how HE screwed up and he told me to come in so we could correct it AGAIN and sign a new contract.
I immediatly went to my car and got my copy of the contract. Sure enough, there it was... $1000 down. I'm thinking did he not shred the first one? Did he just reprint the same one? I don't remember looking the second time I signed because I figured he took it off. Tricky. I know what you all are thinking though, it's my fault because I should have read it the second time. And I should have! Lessoned learned... don't trust anyone ESPECIALLY people that work at a car dealership.
Anyways, I know I'm pretty much screwed when I go back because I signed it and it still said I would be putting $1000 down. I told myself over and over on the way there I would give the car back if they didn't give me the same terms with no down payment. But they didn't want to do it. They wanted to raise my monthly payment or they wanted $1000. I told him he tricked me by making me believe he printed a new contract with no down payment and I don't want their car anyway. He then had the nerve to say they could sue me for the $1000. My face turned red and I was fuming. I told him I work at a law firm and to try it. And if I was supposed to put $1000 down then why would I leave here without doing so the day I bought it?? And why didn't anyone call me back and say I needed to come staighten everything out. So I grabbed trash bags and went outside and started throwing all my stuff in it. I went back inside and slammed the key on the sales managers desk.
At that point I had all these sales people coming up to me and asking what was wrong and what happend. I was so frusterated and upset I got all choked up and emotional. Once the manager saw how upset I was he assured me he would work the deal out with the same payments and no down payment. That's right... I had to cry to get these jerks to give me what we originally agreed on. UUUGGGGHHH! I ended up with $5 more a month in payments and now the maintainance isn't included anymore. They took advantage of me and tried scamming their way into getting a down payment. How do they sleep at night?
