I bought a new car from Larry Miller Pontiac. During the paperwork process, the final price was much higher than it should have been, so I checked each line item and found they were adding a charge to engrave a code number in the glass. Since this was a 'surprise' option and charge, I made them take it off, but it goes to show how dishonest and underhanded they are.

During the warranty period, I returned the car to the same dealer for warranty service on several minor items. During this process, they lied on several occasions about the availability of needed parts, so I ended up having to make too many trips to the shop for the covered repairs.

One of the items I asked them to check was a sharp 'snapping' type of noise when rolling the driver's window up/down. The service writer said it was not a problem and refused to include it in the service request.

Sure enough, after the warranty expired, the window mechanism broke the window to the tune of a $400-$500 repair bill. Since the dealer wouldn't help, I contacted the manufacturer and have been getting jerked around ever since.

On replacing the broken window, the tech discovered the factory had neglected to install a bolt in the window mechanism. A replacement bolt was installed, and the noise disappeared, but now they tell me they need another $500 to fix the window regulator and window.

My huge mistake was not waiting for another dealer to get the car I wanted. STAY AWAY from any Larry Miller store, or simply leave your VISA card with the sales staff.

Provide actual details, and I'll let you know where you stand.

Many problems are actually covered by hidden warranties, TSB's, and non safety related recalls.

Case in point...Chrysler will cover any and all A/C evaporators up to 100K miles, no matter what.

Gm and Ford have their own shares of common issues that they take care of gratis.
