Complaint Review: Las Olas Ocean Market Daniel James Las Olas Surf Shop

I was contacted to make a website for Las Olas Surf Shop in July of 2008. I sent the owner contracts and proposals to which he paid the deposit on electronically. I created framework and designs for the company and awaited content for months while the owner hassled ME about where the site was.

He was contractually shown to produce content for the site, yet failed to do so. He then used his lack of initiative as reason to become delinquent on payment for 3 months. He also refused to return the signed contract.

The owner of this "company" then demanded I refund his money after the files were delivered. I did the designs and work up to the amount of money he paid me, but then he demanded a refund additionally. I suspect to have both the website and the funds back. He attempted to seek a refund from his electronic form of payment after the files were delivered as well.

When I refused to return payment for the work I'd already done he began calling ME a fraud and posted my business phone number in the Casual Encounters section for Homosexuals with lewd information tied to my business phone number and business email.

Warning to all potential designers!! This guy is a joke and fraud that he claims others to be. Don't get suckered into his lies about paying for a website, they are all pipe dreams. If you are wise you will avoid doing business with this liar and will save your personal information from the depths of sick and depraved postings on craigslist.
