Lotto Scams. How to spot the scam:

#6Consumer Comment

Wed, August 24, 2005

How to spot the scam:

1. Did you apply for the contest? If no, its a scam. Ask yourself, if you never entered the drawing, how did they find you?

2. Is there a processing fee? If yes, its a scam. There will never be a processing or shipping charge or any charge associated with winning a contest.

3. Do you see the phrase "UP TO" $3million? Well, $1 is up to $3million. That is what you won. A buck.

You might want to contact that Post Office General (I forget the title) to inform them that the return address is committing mail fraud. It is illegial using the post office to do drawings like that, so that is who you need to contact.

I got a letter in the mail today (8-23-2004) it said that i won three million three hundred forty one thousand and six u.s. dollars. When i read this it seemed so real i had to read it like 5 times i was very happy because i'm only 20 years old and that would be so great to win that money that would have ment that i could quit mt job and give me 6 month old daughter every thing that she needs. I told my dad about it and he told me to get on the internet and look it up fist before i sent in the 20 dollars to them so i looked it up and i found out that it is all a scam. I think that we should do something about it before they take somone else money they need to be stoped.
