I am writing to the readers because the Las Vegas Review Journal is literally ripping off the newspaper carriers in the Las Vegas market when it comes to newspaper delivery. When you become a carrier you MUST sign a contract, in that contract it states the RJ will charge the carrier a rate of $1.75 or $2.00 etc... for any "MISSED" newspapers to the customer for poor delivery service.

This is per paper / per customer / per day... this can become costly when a customer calls in a newspaper because they want another paper or they gave it to their kid to bring to school or work.

But the RJ only pays $0.10 to $0.12 to deliver a newspaper so they are marking up the charges about 400% and making a profit off our paychecks. How much money is the RJ raking in bi-weekly from whacking our paychecks?

When you deliver to a customer and someone steals the paper and you mention this to your manager at a local office they pretty much say "Oh well" deal with it. This is a bunch of BS, we get up 7 days a week to deliver the newspaper for a paycheck, we earned the check and how does the RJ have the right to say "Oh Well" a customer says you skipped them?

Well I say I didn't skip them and I don't want to be charged for something I didn't do. Now RJ, deal with this report on your history.

Signed - a ticked off frustrated upset newspaper carrier.
