Complaint Review: Laurel Business Institute

I was attending the school for medical assistant degree. Was required to do two internships to graduate.While my internships were going on in Sept of 2004 my husband was called in to have a double lung transplant.So my first internship I failed.

I should of took a leave of absence ,reason I didn't was my husbands income was the only income and I wanted to get an education so I could possibly get a good paying job so I wouldn't lose everything I had.

During this internship I was going back and forth to the hospital,going to school three days a week,and taking care of my son at home.

Also they took twelve points off my first internship for being absent knowing that I was going to the hospital when my husband was having surgery

Did a second internship and passed that one,at the end of this internship my husband passed away.

Was told to sign papers if I failed another internship I would be withdrawn.

In may put my application in a nearby hospital as a nurses aide got the job and after 130 hours was left go from that job.

They told me they thought it was to soon after my husbands death to get a job like that.Some of the things I saw were a constant reminder.

Ater going through all that plus 20 months of school and roughly five weeks to graduate the threw me out. Wouldn't take any of this in consideration.

That's not sickening enough but this all happened after they received seventeen thousand dollars from grants and ovr monies.

I feel that this is totally wrong and something should be done about it.

Also one last thing community justice wrote them a letter requesting they let me do another internship so I could graduate and got no reply.

Any help that you could give or any advice would greatly be appreciated.
