Complaint Review: Lavia Design Inc.

We contracted with Lavia to design a program to help us with our start up company.

We met them at their office in downtown Vancouver where they presented a good front and explained their capabilities. No farming out the programming work to 3rd World countries, providing thorough documentation, providing a testing team to insure program worked and finalize by providing a turnkey system.

In reality we stumbled on finding out our project was farmed out to India, there has been no documentation provided, testing was either not done or done so poorly that bugs were not seen and we are still waiting after a year to get a working system, all after paying the invoices in full, in good faith. Lavia has even warned us to not contact their Indian programming company as "they work for us". Their 800 number doesn't work, the office number is an answering machine, their cell phones don't even pick up so you can leave a message. We have begged and pleaded with them to help us finish this project without success or replies and have had to hire outside programmers to help us unravel the mess and try to salvage some of the program to get it to work. If it doesn't break our company it will at the least have done a tremendous amount of financial damage and greatly harmed our reputation.
