Jeff Giandinoto misrepresented a vehicle to my friend and placed us in danger as a result. I have made it my mission to shame them. She had to deal with scum but I don't. Shame on you. I found this site researching our position for small claims tomorrow. I am not a former employee just a witness to your deception. Rebuttal all you wish but "BUYER BEWARE"!!!

Believe nothing this man tells you as at the end of the day Jeff put our lives in danger in an unsafe vehicle he pawned off on my friend that failed even a basic inspection by my mechanic.

Jeff hid behind his staff and refused to accept responsibility for his dishonest business practice. You Jeff are my mission for awhile.

Two BBB complaints - I wish I could read them.

I am retracting what I have said about LaVista Auto Plex. It has been a rough ride but we have worked it out. I am recommending LaVista Auto Plex as a good company to do business with.

I am certain that I have been quite a pain but right is right and you are only as decent and honorable as your word. I do a lot of cash business with companies on verbal promises and this will not change. However, I am wiser as are we all from this educational experience.

Thank you Jeff for your admirable remedy for my friend. I will send other leads your way. I am very grateful that you went out of your way to make this right even though my friend and I made the initial error in judgement.

You are a business man with a conscience! Not too many of those left these days. I only do business with the good ones. I consider you one of them now. I fully retract all previous comments made here and I do sincerely apologize. Jeff has gained my trust - not an easy task.

I am still in disbelief over the Judges ruling (as were the courts very employees) but water under the bridge. Thank you for this venue to air our grievance process.

Very Respectfully,

SLA and friend.

I am keeping this page updated as honestly as possible. I take full responsibility for telling my friend to go to LaVista Auto Plex. Jeff contacted my friend today to attempt mitigation even though we lost in court. Jeff had no obligation to do this. Maybe I was wrong about him.

I will keep this page posted if Jeff does indeed make my friend whole. I am out for mechanic fees and small claims however, I am not seeking mitigation. Only my friends out of pocket losses.

Thank you Jeff. I will retract what I have written if you do the honorable thing and make my friend whole.

It is nice to see someone who actually posts the result of their case even if it does not go in their favor.

While you didn't give any details in your original report or even your update.  It appears as if your friend had purchased a used car and it had problems.  Well generally used cars are sold AS-IS.  The time to have your mechanic inspect the car was before it was purchased, not after the fact.  Just like other things in life, being "less informed" is generally not a viable defense(or offense in your case).  These are probably along the same reasons the judge gave you for ruling against you.

So if there is any lesson here is that when ever you are looking at a used car to have it inspected by your mechanic before you purchase it.  If the dealer refuses to let you do that then move on to the next dealer.  If there are issues with the car but you still agree to purchase it.  Then have it put in writing that the dealer will fix it at their cost, or another mutually acceptable solution.  This way if you do buy the car and they don't fix it you have the written agreement you can use against them.  This does not go for only this dealer but ALL dealers.

Also, if this dealer has only 2 BBB compliaints that is a very small number compared to other used car dealers.

Unfortunately we lost in court today. I have overcome my state of shock as I felt we presented a moderate defense. As stated in the initial report, this is my mission to alert future victims of this business. Regardless of the outcome, integrity is everything. If you take advantage of the less informed it does not make you right winning in small claims.

Our lesson only cost about $900.00. If this sways even one customer who might do business with LaVista Auto Plex, it is worth it. Mr Giandinoto had the law on his side. We stand by the fact that word of mouth is a strong mechanism in consumer confidence. We are in disbelief that under oath, information was relayed of a false nature. Mr Giandinoto knew his legal standing as he has been doing this for some time. We are much wiser as a result.

On a positive note, I have the pleasure of passing on our horror story in hopes of warning others. It was a small price to pay for such an enlightening education. Our mechanics report should have been enough but for whatever reasons the Judge did not see it this way.

I hope the inconvenience and time involved made Mr Giandinoto slightly uncomfortable. Please note the two BBB complaints against this company as well. Sometimes you just have to write it off as a life lesson. My friend was the loser today but in life Mr Giandinoto is a loser on ethical and moral grounds. Thank you.
