Complaint Review: Law and Investigations Dept-Steve Carter

One of my "references" received a phone call today from someone named Steve Carter.  he had a very strong middle eastern accent so it was odd to me that he would have a name like that.  I had the reference do a three way so that I had a witness to all that was said.  This guy claims that I took out a payday loan in 2009 with Cash Advance Mutual and that I was in default.  When I asked when in 2009 he said that he didn't have that information.  He also refused to tell me any information about the company that he was collecting for.  When I asked him for the phone number to the Cash Advance he said that he couldn't give it to me because they didn't want to talk to people like me who didn't pay their bills they just wanted to see people like me behind bars.  This guy hung up on me three different times.  Anytime I would start to question him about the company he would hang up on me.  I told him that I had never had any payday loan online and he said that they would see me in court and that I was going to jail.  He had all my information....address, SSN, bank account, and the place that I used to work.  This place is a scam.  When I googled their number it came back to a florist in Florida, and when i questioned him about it he wasn't even sure what to say and just told me that he didn't know why it came back that way.  I have checked bank records and have nothing from Cash Advance.  I plan on contacting the county attorney where I live and reporting this and I recommend all others to do the same.  We have to get these people stopped.
