I aquired a credit card in 2002 to help cover college expenses. I was in a severe aouto accident that left me in a coma and with a paralytic arm. I got behind with ALL my bills however made payment arrangements to the best of my ability. I was called by my grandmother who had a message left on her answering machine regarding an "incident". This was the FIRST representative from Andrew Marancik's office.

I was then contacted in a RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL manner from ANOTHER individual DEMANDING and making threats that I pay up. I made arrangements... and requested LEGAL proof of validity of their firm. I then recived this as proof:

Here is the letter that you requested.

Thanks

REALLY?! Are you serious?! I then became SUSPICIOUS and without a website for them, I looked up as much info possible and came up with a bevy of RIP-OFF scams apparently this company has been in on???? I have made SEVERAL attempts to call their 866 number but have had NO success. The local number does work.
The initial individual that contacted me no longer works there and, when I called back at one point, the "girl" who answered had NO clue who or what I was calling in reference to. Then she said "OOOOoooh, you must be trying to get in contact with the attorney?..." WHAT??

Read Fair Debt Collection Practices Act

for instance telling your relative about your debt problem is a violation

Learn about Statute of limitations,
Learn about what the CA is required to do - Validate debt, (prove it is yours)
In most cases Collection Agencies cannot validate.

They cannot be nasty or use threats of any kind

Check your state laws on recording phone calls.
