Having Brian Hurwitz as a lawyer has been a nightmare from the start. Many promises were made to me that he did not follow trough with. During my initial consultation, Brian made it seem like a first time DUI was a very simple case and I was told that my charges would be reduced and that they would take care of my DMV hearing for X amount of money without ever going to trial. I paid Brian Hurwitz's office right away in order to get the ball rolling on this.

First, my license was suspended, when I called to ask about my DMV hearing, I was told that I did not hire them for the dmv hearing, that I only hired them up to trial. So now after giving Brian Hurwitz thousands of dollars, I am left without a driver's license. I has already paid him and there wasx nothign I could do, but suck it up at this point. So I stuck around.

Dealing with Brian Hurwitz for the next few months was even worst. I could never speak with him. I think I spoke with everyone else in the office who is not an attorney. I was given no advice and was give excuses to why there is no information on my case, or why no work has been done.

I left Brian many emails, I wrote about the concerns I am having as a client of his law firm. I was completely ignored. Even before my court date, I got no call telling me I would have an attorney there. I showed up to my court date early, thinking no attorney would show up, but I was wrong. Brian Hurwitz did show up, but all he did was try to push me into trial. He told me that going to trial would guarantee the charges be dismissed, he told me that they have evidence on the case that will lead to the dismissal of my case.

I asked for this evidence, but was given no straight answers, instead I was given quick, short answers that made no sense. Brian was not prepared to handle my case and instead tried to ask me for more money, after doing no work for all the money I had already paid him. Brian Hurwitz and his law firm gave me much less than the bare minimum and expected even more money from me. I realized this place was just a scam and took the first deal, before Brian Hurwitz could take any more of my money. I truly believe I would have been better off with a court appointed attorney.

Everyone that work at the law offices of brian hurwitz and brian himself should be ashamed. They get paid very well to help their clients, but instead they allow their clients to suffer, by ignoring them and giving them hope. Brian Hurwitz is not a cheap attorney, I believed that was because he was a good attorney, but I was dead wrong. Brian Hurwitz will tkae your money and give you nothing. Please do not make the same mistake I have made. There are many honest attorneys in Los Angeles, Brian Hurwitz is not one of them, not even close.

Perhaps you should address the underlaying issue. You know. DUI. That was your first mistake. Your second mistake was thinking that ANYONE can get you off on these charges. YOU took the risk to drive around messed up. You KNEW THE RISKS INVOLVED!!

Your Lawyer is correct in pushing you to a trial. In case your just that far out of the loop, let me explain. A trial would force the DA to PROVE you were intoxicated. Many police officers CAN NOT get the time of to attend trials. This means that you would probably have had no police officer witness to testify against you at trial. Which means that you and your lawyer could have contested the results of either a field sobriety test or a breathalizer.

Its unfortunate that you drove drunk/high/whatever. But you should really learn from this mistake in your life. DONT DRIVE MESSED UP!! You are driving a 4000 lbs vehicle. Even on your best day that is a difficult thing to do safely. Add being messed up and its nothing but danger at that point.

I might also point out that a lawyer has many many clients. They are normally very very busy. If you wanted a touchy feely kinda lawyer, then you should have requested one. As it stands, you went with a Lawyer that could get you off. You did not hire them for thier comunication skills with YOU. No you hired them to get you out of trouble. I would suggest that you let them do thier job. You are paying them to make sure that no one else finds out about your inability to drive while messed up. It would raise your insurance and put quite a few dings on your driving record.
