Complaint Review: Lazy Bear Inn

 Made reservations via booking.com for 1 King room, non smoking  Pictures on their site are showing clean, neat and fairly up to date. We arrived at the Inn on June 21st 2014 to find a room that reaked of smoke, carpet was filthy, spider webs in corners of ceiling, mini fridge frozen with ice so thick we could not adjust setting, no chair in room, towels paper thin, mold in bathroom , clock would not set, no battery in the smoke detector and the security latch was broken. 

We brought these issues to the attention of the girl at the desk.  She said there was nothing she coud do.  We asked to see the manager who we latter found out is man by the name of Lenny.  He made the excuse that he couldn't control if people smoked in the room and that he would spray for the smoke.  He would replace the clock and put a chair in the room, and fix the mini fridge.  We asked if he could refund some of the monies for the room and he said he would refund $10.00 which we never received. 

We left for dinner and upon returning 3 hours late we found the room now to reak of disinfectant, the replaced clock did not work,  still no battery in smoke detector, carpets had not been cleaned,  chair was replaced,  security latch was still broken. In the office of the Inn there are signs posted no Alcoholic berages allowed.  Wehn we returned there wer 6 people sitting outside our door drinking.  They were loud and annoying.  We called the numbers that were listed in the room for any issues whereby there was no one to talk to or leave a message. 

We found later that through all this the owner was sitting in the Lobby as we stated our issues.  We left the next morning at 6:30 to receive our $10.00 and have the continental breakfast. The door was locked and no one answered.  We called Lenny upon arriving at home and shared with him our concerns.  We requested a full refund.  He stated he would talk to the owner.  The next day Lenny stated that the owner would not refund any of our monies due to a bad revue on Trip Advisor.
