In October of 2019 I purchased a brand new 2020 Lance 2465 Trailer from Lazy Days RV in Tampa. The camper has two awning a smaller front awning that cover the front door a lager awning that covers most of the rest of the side of the trailer. When we took delivery the awning would beep every ten seconds. The representative told us that was a reminder to turn them off once they were extended. OK, sounds great. Once I took deliver we joined the Lance user’s group.

In that forum I learned that the awning were supposed to remain on (in the event of high wind they would retract) and the beeping mean they were not talking to the main computer and thus would not retract during high winds. In other words the beeping was not a reminder to turn them off, it was a warning that they were not communicating with the awning control circuit (a warning). Because our front skylight had developed a small leak, we took the trailer back to Lazy Days of Tampa on 2/29/20 and dropped it off for our scheduled appointment on 3/1/20.

After multiple calls, I was finally informed on 3/18/20 that skylight was not being shipped from Lance because they had shut-down operations due to the Corona outbreak and the parts for the awning were not being shipped from Carefree of Colorado because they had shutdown operations due to the Corona outbreak. On 4/17/20 I called Lance to see if they had a message indicating when they would resume operations. I was surprised that someone answered and even more surprised they had never shut-down. Equally, they had shipped the skylight over a month earlier. I then called Carefree of Colorado, they had never shutdown operations.

There are only two possibilities, incompetence our lies.

I am still going back and forth with Lazy Days of Tampa to get my RV repaired.
