Lazydays & Monaco Corp. Professionals at riping seniors! Seffner Fl. & Coburg, Or Oregon & Florida
The title to this ripoff complaint is indeed what Lazydays and Monaco do. The majority of rv buyers are folks who have paid their dues and are ready to enjoy their senior years traveling and doing things they could not do while working to earn a living. If they are in good health and able to enjoy these amentities, it all ends after a visit to lazydays and purchasing a monaco rv. We did just that, went to lazydays, purchased a monaco diplomat rv. Since then, the worry and frustration has taken away our good health and we still can't travel although there is a 2007 monaco sitting in our yard. After many attempts, frustrating phone calls (Hours on the phone) and reports to the BBB, we will be celebrating our one years anniversary in Feb. of having our "golden years" diminished to an rv that is not now or ever was operable. The sad thing is the lemon law does not cover the living quarters of an rv, this should be changed! The rv people know this so there is no hurry or concern for this. That is one reason the service is so bad.
We have had multiple problems. We have talked with many reps. at Monaco in Indiana such as, Brian, Becker, Jay, Jim, Melanie in Or., and reps. at Lazydays. We took our rv to Lazydays twice, once in April, once in May and on Sept. 20th we brought it home from Wildwood where they have a Monaco repair facility. It has not moved since that day! Now, in order to start it, the batteries have to be charged every time. I have sent pictures of the potty chair with a bucket under it that we had to use because the macerator pump tore up, then nothing would work. We have had multiple leaks and was told by Brian at Monaco for my husband of 65 years to get on top of the rv with a squeegie and get the water off before bringing in the slide! We have the rv that has the whole side slide out, seals came off and had to be held on with duct tape in order to get it to Seffner to get it fixed! I could go on and on!
One of our main interest is horse shows as we are in partnership with a show horse. We did not get to go to not one, I repeat, not one horse show this past season. There was always something wrong with the rv or it was in the shop.
The BBB case was closed as unresolved. Monaco sent letters to BBB that were not true stating they had done this or that. Lazydays replys to BBB were excerts from the contract. Both said they were willing to do anything for us except take the rv back. I have also forwarded all the particulars to the Attorney General.
We have spent the miles that are on our rv between our home and Seffner and or Wildwood, getting repairs. We have had to stay in motels in Seffner.
We have been treated like second class citizens in Seffner!
As I said before, all this has affected us health wise as the stress and worry of it has been unreal. We have lost our respect for the rv industry and have nothing good to say about monaco or lazydays.
So, if you are prepared to take up residence at lazydays for days on end, sleep in your rv while it is in the bay, go ahead, accept the con that includes free meals, fall for the hospitality that meets you at the door with dollar signs flashing in their eyes. I promise you this, monaco and lazydays are done with you after you sign on the dotted line!
The "golden years" don't last long, we lost ours to Seffner and Monaco!

As suggested, I faxed a copy of the rippoff report to Monaco. We got a call from them concerning the fax. Of course, the lady was doing her job. She offered to get things fixed etc. Her one statement that stood out is this. When I told her what I had done so far and that this was going to get ugly, her reply was "I would hate to see you spend all that money for a lawyer!" What does that tell you? In other words it is a waste of time, you bought it now live with it! We are not done yet.
