Purchased laser toner cartridges in multiples to avoid running out at critical times. Canon 118-compatible cartridges ordered in three colors, Cyan, Magenta and Yellow. Cartridges are rotated and and a Magenta cartridge purchased in 2014 was placed in service today, February 23, 2017.

It appears that the manufacturer changed the design of the Magenta cartridge where the electronic chip is positioned so the cartridge will not allow the toner drawer to close. A check of all Magenta cartridges in stock reveal the same manufacturing flaw.

Cartridge boxes all state "100% Satisfaction Guaranteed" in four areas on the box as well as "LD Products Lifetime Guarantee" on two places. When we contacted LD Products Customer Service Department, we were told that since the products were purchased in 2014 they were no longer under warranty and that the Satisfaction Guarantee and Lifetime Guarantee was printed on a generic box and meant nothing. No where on the box does it express that guarantees are within a limited timeframe. We attempted to go up the ladder and speak to management and got the same song and dance about a one year limit on a lifetime guarantee and that 100% satisfaction is only for 12 months after purchase.

Clearly, we recieved magenta cartridges that were improperly manufactured, rendering them useless. When we requested replacement of the defective products, we were told that it was beyond the 12 month timeframe and we were out of luck. We were sold sham cartridges and because we did not open every box and examine each cartridge for flaws at the time of purchase, we are f****d.
