My wife clicked an ad in a game on her phone, expecting to purchase two individual products (Luxe Derme Collagen Creme and Luxe Derme Eye Serum) for $4.99 each. When we were subsequently billed $94.99 and $89.98 by the same company, I called the Customer Service number and was told that the initial order began a trial period, which we had failed to cancel in the "alotted" 14 days.

Nowhere in the ad, the confirmation emails, or the order packaging was the term "trial period" mentioned. Upon investigation, it is hidden in paragraph six of the "Terms and Conditions." When I insisted on a refund, I was rebuffed. I asked to speak to a manager, and the Customer Service associate hung up on me. This happened twice. Emails sent to the "help" email address returned similar results. This company is a blatant cash-grab scam.

The quality or lack thereof of the product itself is irrelevant (notice they continuously obfuscate their questionable moral approach by citing its "benefits" and their many, many "satisfied customers"). Perhaps they satisfy their legal obligation by noting the trial period deep in the T&C. That doesn't change the fact that they are out to decieve.
