It all started in June of 2007 while we were shopping at Target, a lady approached us and told us me that they are searching for talented kids and they will be having an audition in the above mentioned facility in Clairemont Mesa. We went and my 5 year old daughter was given a short line to say in front of the camera. After 2 days we heard from Leah Ngo, saying that we need to come in since our daughter made it thru the audition, and both parents are needed. We went and we were told that we will be watching a video of what Be Production is about and their connections to the Hollywood people etc. then we were asked to go to a room where we met Leah. She went ahead and told us that there is a membership fee and and we have a choice to sign her up for either 5 years for $5000.00 or 2 years for $2500.00, that we will have access to acting classes, singing classes, and modeling, and that we will be able to post on their website and talent agents log on to their website to find talent, and to later find out that there is also a fee to be on their on website. She also told us about their show on CW called "Be Boppin" and that if we sign up our daughter will be in the show for the November 2007 showing, but this never happened These are huge amounts of money and we told her that we dont have it. So she went on and on about what about supporting our daughter and that we can try them and that what she can do is sign her up for 1 year so we can just try them...to make the story short they got us for a year and we signed our daughter up for a year, we paid $1200.00. We were scheduled for a 6 weeks acting class which we also have to pay $25.00 per class thru Rising Star. On November 16th, there is a showcase where 4 or 5 talent agents from Hollywood will be in their office and we were supposed to audition for that. I got an email from their scheduling department last month saying that we are signed up and they will be emailing us of our time slot. I waited and emailed them about the time slot and never heard from them . All day today I have been calling my talent agent and their scheduling department and no one answers the phones. So lesson learned and an expensive on too. My advise to whoever reads this complain, DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THIS COMPANY, THEY JUST WANT YOUR MONEY....THAT IS ALL...AND BEWARE OF LEAH NGO, SHE IS A SWEET LITTLE LADY THAT SOUNDED VERY SINCERE, BUT I GUESS SHE IS JUST LIKE THE REST OF THEM. THIS IS NOT THE END OF MY COMPLAIN, I WILL BE CALLING TV STATIONS ABOUT THIS COMPANY, AND I WILL NOT STOP UNTIL THEY ARE EXPOSED.

The reason the show is similar to Hip Hop Harry is because Be Productions hired the same production crew as Hip Hop Harry, JoshZaretsky being one of them. Josh, along with several other crew members, have tons of experience on various sitcoms and reality tv. Hip Hop Harry is one of many that Josh has worked on and I am glad that you identified Hip Hop Harry to B'Boppin as he has a unique style that is obvious in all his work. If you refer to www.imbd.com and look up Hip Hop Harry, you will see his full name listed under series writing credits.

If you need further information on B'Boppin and where you can view the shows, simply call the BE office or inquire on their website and they will be able to direct you.

Michelle:

You have every right to be upset, however, I was laid off months ago (prior to the office closing) and for privacy reasons could not access your account status. Once let go, I do not have a password into the system. Without access into the company database, I did not have any means of contacting you. Please know I wanted to call you and all my clients to notify them of the situation. I was aware that once I was let go, I would have multiple calls from clients so I recorded on my personal cellular phone voicemail that I was no longer with BE and that you could call me or the 1-800 number. Even after being let go, I have been assisting several of my existing clients because I still feel that I am your rep and I want you to be happy and know that I am always here for you. However, without access to your informaiton, I was relying heavily on your call since all my clients have my cell number.

Please know I am on your side and I did everything I could to let clients know of the situaiton. I have never been unprofessional to you or any clients of mine, you know that, so please do not state that I am, as this is clearly something you are upset about over the company- not me. The company is the one who laid me off, closed the office, etc and that is out of my hands. As you know, this economy is rough and many people are loosing their jobs, and I do not appreciate the criticism when I am a victim in loosing mine. If you would like to speak with me directly, please call my personal cell number and I will be happy to speak to you.

I hope this response gets back to you and you have a chance to understand my side of the story and why you haven't heard from me. I wish the circumstances were different but I hope you can understand and know I am on your side.

Take care.

To Leah Ngo - would have been nice to receive a personal email

After all the money we paid to Be Productions it sure would have been nice to receive an email (even if it was an email mass mailed to everyone) stating that you would no longer be our talent director. That seems like the professional thing to do.

A month or so before the San Diego office was declared "closed" I tried to email you several times with questions I had (that's what you were there for right?). I later found out that the San Diego offices were closed. Gee....wouldn't it be nice to send an email to all those people that paid THOUSANDS of dollars to let them know the office was closing BEFORE it closed. Seems like the least you and Be could have done.

Very unprofessional. What happened to bringing Hollywood to You? Big lie obviously when the only San Diego show that was filmed (BBoppin') is strangely almost identical to another show that is already on tv (Hip Hop Harry).

To Maria Yuquimpo and readers:

This complaint was written back in 2007 by Maria Yuquimpo and unfortunately it has my name on it. This particular client had a bad experience due to a slight miscommunication with the BE Productions scheduling department, which was ultimately resolved when it was brought to my attention. All my clients have my personal cellular number, e-mail, and office line. I never received any type of call or email from Maria until the day after I read this on rip-off report. Once I knew of the situation, I immediately responded and everything was taken care of that day. Maria was apologetic for losing her temper and made it clear to me that she would take this off rip off report as she admitted to being out of line and upset. Obviously, this is still on rip off report and from my understanding it is very difficult to remove complaints off this site. For those reading this, please note for the record that this client is a happy client after I had a chance to speak with her.

I understand that many families can be skeptical of the entertainment industry. If you are new to anything, you have the right to be questionable. There are a lot of companies out there that are scams, but there are also a lot of legitimate companies that ultimately end with positive outcomes and success stories. I am no longer working for BE Productions but I do believe that they had the right intentions.

My advice to those who are interested in pursuing a career in entertainment is to know that there is a lot of competition out there, nothing in life is free- you must first invest in yourself before someone will invest in you, know there is always room for growth and education, hard work DOES pay off, persistence is key, take new experiences as opportunities, and know that things always happen for a reason!

Thank you for reading my response.
