Complaint Review: Leah Sullivan

Hello.
I first heard of Leah Sullivan when I needed a divorce attorney, I was not yet a year into my divorce and had no idea what I was getting into.
I needed a lawyer who could fight for me, as my ex husband's attorney was lying to the courts at MY expense and the courts were not listening to a woman representing herself pro-se.
Attorney Sullivan was aware of the severity of my divorce proceedings and seemed confident she could help me. So my mother paid Ms. Sullivan $3,500, which she BORROWED just to help me.
I noticed poor organizational skills in Ms. Sullivan immediately, as she filed the paperwork with the WRONG COURTHOUSE!!!
I had to call Leah's office myself and note the error, even her own office staff did not notice it.
So more time was wasted by Ms. Sullivan having to submit the paperwork a second time around.
This woman expected me to be an open/shut divorce, she never even asked me what I wanted in a settlement, instead SHE told me: "I'll get you a chunk. you can live of $10,000 for the rest of your life can't you?"
This woman is seriously BRAINDEAD. $10,000 will NOT support me, let alone me and baby!
I protested to Leah and told her what I wanted: the marital home as a roof over my head was more important than any money. Leah scoffed and said it 'wasn't possible'.
Bullshit. If a woman has nowhere to go, the courts have no right making her homeless.
It wasn't the end of the world I wanted my home instead of money, but it was to Leah because she wouldn't get as much money. She cared more about taking care of HERSELF than ME, her paying client, and my daughter!
The next thing I am disgusted with this woman for is the fact she care more about what's 'easiest' than what's right..
For example, I was horridly treated at my temporary hearing by my ex husband's attorney.
She proposed to the courts that my ex husband and I undergo 'psych evals' at the tune of $1250 a pop, out of our own pockets, to 'prove' who was the more fit parent.
My ex husband is cutter who slashed up his own body with razor blades. He spent time in a mental institution by his own father when he was only 16. Criminal record stemming from a juvenile, DUI and felony charge of Receiving Stolen Property.. yeah, his attorney was awfully busy putting lipstick on that pig.
The other lawyer made the judge order these psych evals because she knew her client could pay to jump through that hoop and I couldn't. Here I was, a fit mother, no history of anything, and good work ethic, yet I had to 'prove' to the courts I 'loved my daughter' by pulling $1250 out of my rectum and paying for a 'psych eval' I didn't even need.
If I had committed a crime or some other act that called my mental state under scrutiny, I would understand getting a psych eval as punishment.. But I did NOTHING, and I relayed this to Leah, who was supposed to defend me and show the courts that my ex husband and his lawyer were lying to their faces.
Leah Sullivan's 'legal' advice to me on this subject was to bellow in my ear over the telephone "Just go do the psych eval!! Just go do it! Just go do the psyche eval!!"
When I cried to Ms. Sullivan that I didn't have the $1250 to pay for her, her voice lit up as she said "Hey! Your mom has money! She can pay for it!"
RIIIIIIIIGHT!!! Bleeding my poor mother for even MORE money she didn't have.
Leah Sullivan didn't give a rip about confronting the other attorney and her illegal tactics, she didn't care about standing up to the courts and telling them I had been taken advantage of, she didn't care that I had not a single dollar to pay for these court orders!
She should have stood up for me and plead my innocence, instead her 'legal advice' was to bully me into something I knew wasn't right.
Leah never got the order lifted by the judge..and she certainly had the experience to do so.
Leah Sullivan also has very poor observation skills. Other lawyers comb through documents with a fine tooth comb. I was the one doing that job even though I paid Leah $3,500 to do it for me.
I found inconsistencies and down right LIES filed by the other parties attorney, not Leah, and when I pointed them out to her with urgency, all she has to say was 'Oh, I'll be damned."
We had a loophole for charging the other party with false statements and lies, Leah Sullivan couldn't be bothered filing ANY motions to reprimand the other attorney, who was clearly lying under oath.

WARNING: ANYONE CONSIDERING HIRING THIS LAZY, GOOD FOR NOTHING, PIECE OF s**t LAWYER PLEASE AT LEAST READ THE FOLLOWING:
Get this: In June of 2012, after a misunderstanding at my daughter's daycare, I was called by Leah Sullivan at 10AM to inform me "We have an Exparte hearing today at 11:30, I have something to do so you're gonna have to go represent yourself." My ex husband's lawyer took a harmless display of a mother doing whats best for her child and turned it into something that made me into a 'monster'.. It was lies, a misunderstanding and clearly wasting a very busy judges time.
Leah made no efforts to try to reason with the other attorney on the ex parte nor did she try to defend my mothering whatsoever.
I had to yell in Leah's ear that there was NO WAY I was going to represent myself at an ex parte hearing when I was paying HER to do the representing for me. One, I didn't have any gas in  my car to drive to the court for the ex parte, and two, I was paying for a lawyer, this was the ONLY time Leah went to court for me at that time and I pretty much forced her to go.
I shouldn't have had to twist this woman's arm to get her to help me! What the hell was I paying her for??!!
I couldn't be there due to no money and no gas, Leah said she'd 'strongly object' to the ex parte.
Leah Sullivan showed up late for my ex parte hearing and was so disorganized in her case that I LOST CUSTODY OF MY TODDLER DAUGHTER BECAUSE OF HER HORRIFIC PERFOMANCE!
When I confronted Leah about the disaster at court, she simply shrugged and said "Yeah, I'm not happy with the decision either but you can live with it."
I was furious she lost custody of my daughter to her alcoholic father with the fat 84 year old lawyer whose lying to the courts about me, Leah didn't have a care in the world or a shred of sympathy.

Please know I am a drug free, crime free woman.
Why was my child taken from me based on NO EVIDENCE, of ANY wrongdoing, PAST OR PRESENT?
Leah Sullivan never fought for me with the gusto my ex's lawyer fought for him.
When I went to court again on July 3rd, the other parties attorney spat in the room I was sitting in, almost hitting me with her saliva, and upsetting me greatly.
Even though Leah Sullivan SAW the other attorney deliberately provoke me by spitting in my direction, she said NOT A WORD to the bailiffs about the conduct.
Not only is the system corrupt, but the lawyers who are supposed to HELP YOU with these things are also.
When we got into the courtroom, Leah started off the hearing by informing the judge she was withdrawing from my case. Yes, you read that right! This stupid woman actually stood in front of a judge in the beginning of a hearing and said "I'm withdrawing after this hearing."
The one good thing I CAN say about Leah?? She uncovered the lies my ex husband wrote in his financial affidavits, like checks for as much as $100,000, $30,000 and $75,000 that were NEVER told to the court. Leah Sullivan DID sniff out that rat. but because she f*ked up at the beginning of the hearing and wouldn't be around anymore, the judge didn't care and willingly let the fact that the other attorney deliberately falsified statements with the courts, regarding her clients financials and slanderous, dangerous statements regarding my character.
I left court that day with: NO CUSTODY AND GET THIS- SUPERVISED , YES, YOU READ RIGHT! SURPERVISED, VISITS WITH MY DAUGHTER AT A 'CENTER', WHICH I MUST PAY FOR OUT OF MY OWN POCKET.

I went to Leah Sullivan for help and if she wasn't qualified to go up against my ex's attorney, she should have just been honest instead of taking money that wasn't even mine to put up.
Leah Sullivan cost me $3,500 in her retainer.
That got me a couple silly motions that weren't ever granted by the judge due to being poorly written, a crummy ex parte hearing she blew by being late and disorganized and a last hearing where she stood up in the beginning and told the judge she didn't care anymore.
She exercised little regard for me and my daughter, what a sad excuse of a family lawyer.

I informed Ms. Sullivan of my immense dissatisfaction with her handling of my case and relayed to her I would be telling the public regarding my experience with her.
She deliberately chose to ignore my request, so here's the physical consequences of yet another bad decision she made. She could have made it right, instead she skewered her reputation as a lawyer and as a mother, by allowing me to go public regarding my experience with her.

I lost my child, my dignity and money I don't even have thanks to this horrible woman.

All she had to say was 'No. I can't help you.' I would have taken my money and left.

DO NOT HIRE LEAH SULLIVAN! YOU WILL ONLY BE DISAPPOINTED.
