After a long and unpleasant lease with CIT, I paid the lease in "Full" plus paid the "buy out amount". Due to the company,(I have the names of the individuals) they mailed the conditional letter to an incorrect number for my address. Therefore I received the buy out letter late. My payment was sent to them by Fedral Express. My closing payment to them was $994.71 after already paying over $2000.00 on this lease. I paid late fees at times when I was not late. They never offered me refunds and they never gave me the 10 day grace period.

It has been hell. The operators are insulting and threatening. I was called a stupid Indian for not reading the contract (which was filled in later). This all, I was going to forget and go on after I paid it in full and as agreed.

But then, CIT had to do one more vile and odious action and reported "settlement" on my credit record. After all they put me through, calling me 6 to 9 times a day at work, home and pager. Would not stop calling my work even after a written letter that was sent register mail and never answered.

I could never talk to a supervisor, and would be cussed at and then hung-up on at this request.

I now am researching everything I can to get back my over payment and a service charge that was automatically taken from my bank account illegally, once a month (I never gave authorization), and to have my credit report corrected.

This seem like a good place to start. Since to date, I can not get a return call from CIT to make this corrections without going public. Not even a supervisor has returned my call. It seems that the owners would want to know what these incompetent employees are doing to there business.
