I had been in business for about 10 years and never contacted anyone about credit card equipment. One guy came to see me about letitng him install the equipment. I didn't want to fool with it because i had a very good business without it. I had two different businesses that were side by side on the same street and the guy was smart. He found out that on Fridays, late in the afternoon, I was very busy making the payrool and I really didn't have time to talk with him since we were seeing who was going to work on Saturday. I let him put the equipment in sometime in 2005 then in Oct of 2006, I fell and broke a bone in my back. I had a full stock of inventory in the store where i had the credit card equipment so I couldn't just lock the doors. I contiuned to operate it without my being there. That was a mistake but I contuined until sometime in late 2007 and just closed the bank account to keep from them from deducting money from my account. Then is when I started geting calls from them several times a day. I called the attorney generals office and filed a report with them and theytold me that they were sure when I wrote to them about me breaking my back, that would be all that was needed to stop the harrasement. I did fax it to them along with a paper from the attorney generals office. Everything did stop for a few weeks than right back as before. I recieved a letter from saying they did not care what happened for me to close the business, they just wanted their money. I asked everytime they called for an address so I could return their equipment but was never given one. I finally found the box that i recieved it in and did send it back to them prepaid by UPS to be notified when they recieved it. They did get it but nothing changed. In March of this year I was scheduled for more surgery on my back on April 1. When they called, I told them that i would be in the hospital in Baton Rouge La. and gave them the name of the hospital and the phone number and asked them to please not call so many times a day and leave messages on my answering machine because My wife in a nurse and has to be able to get messages. Well, they had it full in just a few days. Two weeks after i came home from that hospital, I had blood clotes in both lungs and was in the hospital here where i live for several days. My wife works in the capital city of the state where we live and does not come home during her work schedule. She did come home while i was in the ICU during the day to help with my care. She would try to sleep between the visiting shifts at the hospital and tried to them them that i was in the hospital and gave them the information so they could check. Well they did not check and continued to call several times each day. A couple of days after i got home, I got a call from the company and it happened to be a gentleman that spoke very good English and I tild him that i had just got out of the hospital and he was very nice and would call me back in a couple of weeks. During that time, all the calls stoped and things were nice not to have a phone call almost every hour. In a couple of weeks, we talked and he said that if I would send him a written report from my doctor, he would close the case. It was a couple of weeks before I saw my doctor again and he did write a report with his phone number if they needed any additional information. I mailed it certified mail and got the notice from the post office where they did recieve and signed for it. Everything just stoped with that until this week. I got a phone call from a lawyer who worked for the company that said that my account has just been placed on his desk to contact me and notify me that they were filing suit and reporting me to the credit bureau. Well, I told him very quick to fill his suit that i was not going to pay him anything and would see him in courd being pushed around in my wheel chair. I cannot even dress my self anymore and either walk with a walker or ride in a wheeldhair. I am sick of this company and have a few friends that are in state government and i do plan to do everything that i can to prevent them from operating in this state

All States should Ban Lease Finance Group

Hi Charles,
First and foremost, I sincerely hope you are improving. Lease Finance Group has been doing these tactics for years and unfortunately, the are still getting away with it. I periodically check back to see how many more people have been Reporting LFG. I have posted on what one can do, and I see you did contact your Attorney General.

Please note, the tactic is to hire Independant Reps, who will tell you anything to get you to buy their equipment, and in many cases not let you know that this is a NON-Cancelable lease. It happened in our case. Actually, the ones who are going after you are CIT, who give the Machines to LFG.

So if you know some congressmen, I would contact them on this issue. It has to stop somewhere since it is Big Business taking advantage of the little business man.

As I said, I have posted this before, but it does bear repeating:
Contact the Federal Trade Commission (FTC)
You may want to send a complaint to FTC (Federal Trade Commission). I did and received a response saying they don't do individual cases. However, if they log enough complaints, they will start an investigation and possibly legal action. So here is the link: https://rn.ftc.gov/pls/dod/wsolcq$.startup?Z_ORG_CODE=PU01 to the FTC complaint forms. I've told many people about it, so you may want to do the same. Make sure you give specific examples or even let them know you have documentation of deceptive or misleading information. Please remember if things weren't CLEARLY disclosed at time of sale, this may be FRAUD in most states

Contact your State Attorney General
Also, you may want to file with your State Attorney General. I haven't given up, but it does take a while for the squeaky wheel to be heard.

The lease finance group did file to the credit bureau as a lost debt. However, I recently refinanced my home. I showed the Financing Company all the correspondence I had with this company, plus the many RipOff Reports, and she had a great laugh and I got my loan at a very low interest rate.

Contact the Main Company (CIT)
Lease Finance Group of Chicago is a subsidiary of CIT, here is their main site: http://www.cit.com/main/default.htm . Also, within this site, I found e-mails and have sent copies of my rip-off report, including a copy of all the complaints listed under Lease Finance Group in the Rip-Off site. Here are some e-mail addresses, you may want to send your concerns to: investor.relations@cit.com, corpcomm@cit.com, directors@cit.com, Support@LFGNet.com Just to let them know how you feel about their fraudulent relationships with Independent Sales Representatives.
