On 7/18/2006, I signed a lease for Lease Finance Group, LLC located in Chicago, IL for the lease of a Verifone Omni Credit Card Terminal.

I felt like I was pressured into signing a contract for 48 months in the amount of 47.95 per month by a local sales representative for Merchant Services, Inc., who only would allow me to setup my equipment through Lease Finance Group, LLC. Recently they charged me $10.57 over that amount.

I feel like I am being ripped off since the final outcome of the lease will leave me paying nearly $3000.00 for a VeriFone Credit Card terminal that only costs around $350.00 new.

I contacted LFG, LLC, and spoke to a representative by the name of Lars, to see if I could terminate the contract and they stated that it was impossible.

I was decieved and ripped off by this company and want to get out of the lease.

I have filed complaints with the Washington State Atty General, Illinois Atty General, BBB, and the Federal Trade Commission.

Somebody needs to do something about this company. I am going to talk to an attorney next week about this.

The Client Was Not Ripped Off or Deceived

#15REBUTTAL Individual responds

Tue, June 17, 2008

I was recently on-line and noticed that this complaint had been filed almost two years ago and I feel that I need to provide a brief response.

I recall the business meeting that I had with Michael who is a business owner dealing with computer related services. We met at my office in a business to business meeting and discussed a number of different things related to his business and he clearly pointed out to me that he was convinced that it was in the best interest of his business to accept credit cards and debit cards as a form of payment from his clients.

Soon after he had conveyed that he was interested in setting up an account, we prepared a contract in which he provided to me all of the necessary information to fill it out the necessary contracts. Michael then went home and returned with a copy of his business license, a voided check and a copy of his driver's license.

We then reviewed the entire contract for both MSI and for LFG which was going to finance his equipment in that he chose to lease the equipment instead of buying it outright. At the end of the transaction, he was provided with a copy of the contracts and he was informed that his equipment would be delivered within forty-eight hours.

On his way out of my office he was introduced to all of our staff and he was very friendly and happy towards everyone. At no time did he act disturbed or as though he had been pressured into making a decision that he was not comfortable with making.

The equipment arrived within the next few days and Michael was then notified that he needed to come into our office so that he could inspect it and so that he could verify his acceptance of the contract with LFG. Michael arrived at our office and was again greeted by our employees who showed him how he was to use the credit card terminal. He was then contacted by LFG who verified all of his personal information pertaining to the contract including the terms and rates of the contract.

The representative also asked him specifically if he understood and accepted all of the terms of the contract and I witnessed him accept and agree to everything that had been asked. After this was completed, Michael stayed at our office for a little bit longer and left in what appeared to be a good mood and happy attitude.

A few days after, I received a complaint fom the local Better Business Bureau ("BBB") which stated that Michael had filed a complaint. I also received a letter from the Attorney General's ("AG") Office. I promptly contacted Michael and asked him about the matter and he informed me that he was not happy with the trasaction and wanted to get out of the contract.

I let him know I was surprised by his change of heart as to the contract, but I let him know that I would do everything in my power to assist him with the matter and then promptly notified both the BBB and AG's office in writing that I was acting diligently to resolve the issue with Michael and his company. I assured both the BBB and the AG's office that both Michael and I had entered into a busniess to business contract without any duress or deceit and that it had been done at arms length with professionalism and integrity. I then contacted both LFG and MSI and requested that Michael's contracts be terminated and for him not to be charged any cancellation fees.

To the best of my knowledge all of the contracts were cancelled and Michael's complaints to both the BBB and AG's office were deemed to have been fully answered and resolved.

I am sorry that Michael was not satified with the contracts that he had entered into knowingly and voluntarily, but as to his complaint of there being any sort of deceit or cohersion, that is not accurate.

Based upon all of the actions that we have taken to assure that Michael's matter was resolved professionally, I consider this matter to be resolved with finality.

LFG Terminated My Agreement!

#15Author of original report

Mon, September 18, 2006

I just got a reply from my BBB Complaint in Chicago, IL and it stated that LFG has terminated the agreement between them and me. It stated the terms have been satisified in full.

I am so in shock right now! I have read the letter 5 times now and still dont believe it.

Still have an open complaint against Carlos Valero (sales rep) here in Spokane, but as long as the merchant account with MSI gets cancelled, that will be closed soon!

To everyone out there, just keep fighting them.

Just remember, file complaints with your local BBB, the Chicago, IL BBB, your local Attorney General, the Illinois Attorney General, and the Federal Trade Commission. I also sent the terminal back to Mr. Valero (sales rep in Spokane). Thats what I did and just keep fighting with them.

Good luck!

Since I stopped payment on their automatic deductions from my business account they have been calling me at least 15 times or more a day.I finally bought a special phone ID blocker $100.00 so my phone doesn't ring anymore but I can see on my other phones that are turned off how many times they call.Sometimes they will let the phone ring for at least 10 minutes, but they never get me or my answering machine thank goodness. Also I take all of the bills they send me and put them thru my paper shredder. They are a ruthless company that needs to be stopped legally from harrassing small business.

found out the sales rep (Carlos Valero) here in Spokane is a disbarred attorney

#15Author of original report

Sat, September 16, 2006

Just another bit if information to add:

I recently was doing some searching on the web and found out the sales rep (Carlos Valero) here in Spokane is a disbarred attorney. He was disbarred for unethical practices in law. You can find out more information about that if you wish by looking up his name at the Washington State Bar Association website.

I filed complaints with the BBB here in Spokane and so far he has not responded to the first contact via fax and mail and they have now tried to call him. The BBB is waiting for him to reply to the voicemail they left.

I sent my machine back to him.

Today I got a bill from LFG. I sent it to him.

So far nothing has really happened, but I am going to send my letters off to the news media next week. Still waiting for a response from the Attorney General offices from Washington and Illinois.

Good luck to everyone else fighting with this.

I AM IN THE SAME SITUATION

#15Consumer Suggestion

Sat, September 09, 2006

I was actually LIED TO regarding the terms and conditions of the cc processing machine and services by NPMG a credit card processing company based out of Arizona. The rep who met with us, Diana Moya, never once mentioned a lease and flatly stated that we would be paying a one time $99.00 upgrade fee and that it was cancellable at anytime.

Later on I find out that we were locked into a non-cancellable lease for 60 months at $99.00 per month and that Lease Finance Group, LLC was the compnay leasing.

After several calls, to no avail, to NPMG and Lease Finance Group I decided to move forward with writing the AG of IL, CA, AZX, BBBs, etc etc. The machine was set back, I cancelled by account with NPMG and I was getting ready to send a barrage of letters to all organizations that would help with these fradulant companies...but I got a call from Cody Lazenby of NPMG stating that they would go ahead and dissolve my lease with LFG.

That was about 3 weeks ago and NPMG has not sent me the written confirmation that I reqeuested regarding the dissolution of my lease with LFG. I called last week and left a message with Cody and Brandon Stojak (another "account executive" at NPMG) to send me the confirmation but they never returned my call.

Today I receive a notice from Lease Finance Group that we are 2 months overdue.

Obviously, NPMG lied AGAIN when telling me that they would cancel my lease and this time I am going to continue to write letters to all Attorney Generals, BBBs ,and so forth regardless of the outcome.

I cannot belive that these companies are allowed to continue to operate in such a fradulant manner. They have got to be stopped and put out of business.

I would like someone to contact me if there is a class action lawsuit. How do I get a hold of anyone in my situation???

I too was in your situation. The only way I got out of the lease was to contact the attorney general's office in Illinois-consumer fraud division. Good luck!

Lease Finance Group ripoff dishonest fraudulent Chicago Illinois

#15Author of original report

Tue, September 05, 2006

I recieved a response from the BBB in Chicago, Illinois. And as expected it was a blanket reply letter telling me the usual; you signed an agreement, its not our fault if you did not read it or understand it...

I responded to their letter and now I am waiting again.

I also sent the equipment back to the guy that sold it to me.

Hopefully this will get resolved soon.
