Lease One Corp. has the looks of respectability, else I wouldn't have been hooked.

Since 1985 I've worked with people getting into business for a living and I wanted them to know the risks and pitfalls before they invested.

Recently more than ever, trying to find funds for "start-ups" has been more difficult than ever, so when I found Lease One was a specialist in obtaining funds for Start-Ups, because of over 100 funding sources and their ability to close on these accounts, I was told, plus the promise of 10% commission all going to the Broker for doing these people a favor(I thought).

I was still suspect, particularly because of the $19900.00 fee which had to be paid up front, but Joe consented to let me pay 1/2 before attending class and the other after I arrived and insinuated I would pay after I was convinced they were legitimate.

However on arrival at training, before class could begin I had to pay the balance in full.

Things sounded pretty good and I learned the details about how to submit deals, differences in rates because of credit, etc.

The second day we learned how to solicit for business and what type of businesses they had most success with.

The 3rd and last day (shortened to meet airplane flights, etc. we were to learn about start-ups and their rates, but when asked they said in afternoon, then finally with about 45 min. to go, Rick quickly explained and gave examples: Any bus. less than 2 years, regardless of credit had a minimum rate which amounted to about 65% when you deducted the 15% deposit they made, and limited to 5% commission to be added with a maximum of 36 mo. to pay (this would have amounted to over 70%, which I consider confiscatory.

However, I was still under the impression I could call on Joe, and he would be the last word, and if he were convinced it was a doable deal, he would get it done.

After much solicitation and many calls made to a so-called PROSPECT LIST they sent,  (many nos. were disconnected), and very few had any reason to need a lease, I finally had enough info. to start calling some deals in for approval. (Joe was too busy to take calls and I was instructed to go over w/John Bryson, a nice-enough young man, but NO BUSINESS experience at all. (His thing was designing mis-leading brochures to be sent out, promissing a NO-D. Pymt. deal w/our leasing cos.)

Finally I started getting some calls from vendors with actual deals spelled-out, and when I got an application from a local banker, who with his dad (Who recently sold his business) and had cash-enough in the bank to pay for this franchise location, (I had been tauting the benefits Leasing offered) and he wanted some actual facts and figures.

Not able to reach Joe, I spoke to Rick, who replied since they don't have 5 yrs. in THIS busines you'll have to treat them as a Start-Up. (No if's ands or buts,... end of conversation.)

I was so embarassed I contacted a competitor in Jax. and turned my prospects over to him, (which he was able to get a few approved at a reasonable rate), and then I called my banker prospect and apologized for wasting their time, but I thanked them for their help and belief in me.

(I then sent a statement to the BBB in Boston, and they let Joe write a rebuttal, which gave his old line about all his successes, and I was new and didn't know anything, but he NEVER addressed my particular concerns.)

Apparently the BBB in Boston don't really care, for they make no mention of ANY complaints against L. O. and rate them as an "A".

For the record, I am over 80 yrs. old, and have never had a job, working for wages since college. I owned a mobile home dealership and built a retirement community and met payroll for over 19 years and which employed up to 37 people, and moved to Fl. and operated a Business Opportunity company, which started over 25 years ago, and helped many people become wealthy by owning and operating their own business.

I've Been a member of the Chamber of Commerce and Better B. B., and served as officers in both org. which I am very proud.

I'm sure Joe will find someone to counter this complaint, but "Chameleons" may change their colors, but they are still "Chameleons".
