I had the misfortune of discovering this company the hard way. On a vacation with my kids to Las Vegas, my daughter wanted to phone her mother. Rather than pay the excessive fees (I thought) for calling from the room, I decided to use a payphone in the common area of the Luxor Hotel where we were staying.

The payphone accepted credit cards only which I didn't suspect would be a problem. After dialing the number she wanted to call, my daughter was asked for credit card information which I supplied to her. She got a message saying that the credit card was invalid. Thinking she had made a mistake in entering a digit, we hung up and tried again. Again, she received a message saying the number was invalid. We tried a third time and then gave up.

After returning home, I was dismayed to discover that I had been charged a charge of $25.00 three times by a company called Legacy Long Distance, Cypress Ca. After calling my credit card company, I tried to contact the company on my own since the credit card company had no contact information for this company. When I tried a google search on the internet, guess what popped up? A ripoff report against this company with a similar tale. In checking further, I discovered that this company has a long trail of reports which have been filed against them and apparently, they make a habit of ripping people of.

I have been dealing with this for over a week now and continue to get the runaround. I even tried complaining to the hotel for allowing such an unscrupulous company to maintain a ripoff phone on their premises and they are only a little more helpful than Legacy is.

What else is there to say. IT IS UNBELIEVABLE THAT COMPANIES LIKE THIS ARE ALLOWED TO PREY UPON THE PUBLIC LIKE THEY DO but I guess their money must grease the wheels of the innefiicient and corrupt beaurocracies that allow them to exist.
