I forgot to bring my cellphone on a recent trip to Philadelphia. My return flight home was delayed, so I needed to call a friend in Maine to ask her to feed my dog because I would be getting home very late. I used a pay phone at the Philadelphia Airport and, after dialing the phone number, an operator came on the line and requested a credit card number, so I gave her my Visa card number.

I just received my credit card statement, and there is a charge of $15.05 for a 30-second phone call! I called the 800 number that appeared beside the charge, assuming that the charge was an obvious error. The person answering the phone advised me that the $15.05 charge was their minimum fee regardless of the length of the phone call. I told her that was ridiculous charge for a 30-second call, and she said that I should have requested their rates before making the call.

I expected that a phone call charged to a credit card would cost more than typical rates, but $15.05 is ridiculous!

I see that there are numerous compliants on this company in the RipOff Reports, so I wanted to add mine. This company is an outrageous scam and needs to be shut down. I intend to dispute this charge with my credit company, and I will also file a complaint with the FCC.
