Beginning in June of 2010, I began receiving calls, only at work, from a heavily-accented Indian man using the name "Officer Joe Brown", "Officer Kevin Bacon", and other names....I have repeatedly told them that I have not ever taken out a payday loan and that they need to quit calling me at work as this is illegal, especially since they call before 8:00 a.m. on some occasions, and call multiple times during the day!  I have also asked them to send me information regarding this alleged loan and I am always either hung up on, cursed out, or just talked over.  The amount of the alleged loan changes every time they call!  The first few times they called, they said they were from New York and that I needed to come to New York on the following Monday, to which i laughed and said they were crazy!  Now, the calls come from out of country codes, but the numbers they leave are usually cell phone numbers or landlines that can't be traced!  They have been told repeatedly to not call me at work, and have even been told that I no longer work here, but they are relentless!  Any ways of stopping these predators!!!!

These people are just trying to scam you out of money! Sometimes they luck up and call someone who does have an outstanding debt with a cash advance company and sometimes they dont.
Just ignore them and file a police report on them. I know an elderly man who was being harrassed this way. He did not even know what a cash advance was, much less owe for one. He went to talk to a detective at the police dept. in the small town we live in. The detective called and tried to ask what was it about, They repeatedly hung up on him. They always have a thick, foreign accent.
And they always answer the phone if you call them back with "law office" and use dumb, fictious names.
