Attorneys considering signing up for legalmatch.com should be aware that it is a company whose founder is a criminal. They take your money on the promise of referrals in your area of expertise and when they don't deliver anything but junk clients who want free legal advice, they figure out a way to keep your membership fee. Up front they guarantee good clients who are "screened" and tell you that if you are not happy, you can get your money back. One of the requirements to getting your money back is that you check your account each month. But there is no way that you can prove that you logged in and checked (there really is no need to check anyway because they are sending you notices of "referrals" - the login requirement is a trick to allow them to avoid their money-back guarantee). I dutifully logged in every month, got a few worthless referrals and then when I asked for my money back they said I hadn't logged in as required. I was told that if I wanted to dispute their lie, that I had to go through arbitration in California (which obviously would cost more than the fee they had scammed from me). Well, I'm out $2,000 but will never again send money up front to an on-line attorney referral acam. You can spend your money more wisely on local advertising rather than dealing with liars and crooks.
