Dear All Mazda Owners,

Do not take your vehicle to Legend Mazda for repair. I took my 1996 Mazda MX6 for just a check up. I dropped it off early in the morning and once it because late in the afternoon I started to call to check up on the progress since no one had ever called me. I called and was told they were test-driving it and they had just started to look at it. I was furious and asked my mom to take me down there.

Once I arrived there I was told my car was still gone on a "test drive." I was waiting for 30 more minutes for my car to arrive when I decided to walk to the back and see exactly what those people were doing to customer's cars. When I walked back I saw my car being washed. I asked, "What are you people trying to cover up?" I never received an answer they just looked at me. I had never asked for a car wash and that was not a complimentary thing they ever did.

When I got in the car to FINALLY go home I noticed there was a big dirty spot on the driver seat! I came to find out that the mechanic had taken it to get lunch and he went to the bank. He had put almost 20 miles on my car. This company never offered to give a discount for my inconvenience and aggravation. They only offered me a free oil change and I told them I would never come back to them again.

If only this was the first time they had ripped me off! I had taken it there for a simple tire rotation but when they took off the lug nuts they stripped them and had to bust them off. They told me this was my fault and I would have to pay an extra 150 dollars for them to replace all the striped parts. They said they could put the 2 out of the 5 lug nuts back on the car and I could drive it home.

Once my father called and asked whom their lawyer was so he would know who to contact once I died in a car accident from my tires flying off, they changed their tone and replaced the parts THEY destroyed for free.

I have never had such horrible service as I have at this company. If you value your car and life find an honest and trustworthy mechanic and NEVER go to Legend Mazda.

Yes and no they should not have used your car

Yes, they should not have used your car for personal errands. No, they are not responsible for the lugnuts stripping out. The company that put the lugnuts on is responsible. The only reason a lugnut or stud strips or breaks coming off is because they were not installed properly. The only reason they gave them to you is because they thought it would be cheaper than using their attorney to fight you.

This is akin to a customer thinking I should be responsible for something I did not install. If they did not install the tires, they are not responsible for any damage caused by the installation. Damage is always caused during installation. If a bolt breaks, it is because the threads were not prepped with anti-sieze, and this includes lugnuts and studs. I agree however, that they should clean the car inside/out and throw you a freebie like an oil change or something for the use of the car.

If the stain is still there, take the car to the General Manager of the dealership and talk to him/her. A show of force will get you nowhere, while diplomacy reigns supreme in these cases. Good luck, you may get some extra freebies for the trouble they caused you.
