In August 2016 I was diagnosed with skin cancer. I was treated for the skin cancer and having it removed but the cancer had spread to my bone in my finger which part of my finger had to be removed. I filed a claim with this insurance company that I had signed up for through the American Legion. The policy is really worthless. I supplied this company with all of the medical procedures that they ask for including the doctors, surgical procedures, hospital out-patient documents and follow up the documentation it showed the treatment and step by step procedures that the doctors did to remove the cancer from my finger. I submitted the required documentation that the insurance company requested in September 2016. From the time I submitted the claim it took almost 9 months for me to receive a joke of a payment. The toal cancer treatment was $9,048.78 of which this insurance company paid "0". I received only $608.00

"The reason for non-payment Policy does not provide for surgical facility service"

"Policy does not provide benefits for X-Rays & lab services"

"Additional surgical procedures performed through the same incision are ineligible"

This insurance company asked me to supply all of the surgical and lab services, hospital costs and treatments to remove the cancer I did supply them with a very detailed docmentation from all of the doctors, labs and hospital costs. This policy for cancer is a total rip off and they pay nothing for the cancer treatments yet they ask for all of the documentation associated with the cancer treatment and removal. This policy is through the American Legion. Yet is seems that this insurance rips off american men and women to have fought for this country spilled blood and died for only to be ripped off by this sorry insurance company. I am sorry to say that I took out this policy it is worthless and should be reviewed by the American legion and its board to see how worthless it really is.
