Complaint Review: Leisure Vacation Time

This company Liesurevacationtime.com has just registered thier domain naim and created thier website in the last month. Yet they say they have been in business for 21 years? They refuse to give their address which is somewhere in Cancun. They have a very nice website and they are very good at selling their packages. They claim to be working with RCI and Costco and it is a marketing expense which is why you 5 star vaction packages are so discounted. I have contacted them 3 times now about the contract they sent me and everytime they have promised to revise the contract and I never get a revised contract. I have called and asked to speak to a manager twice and twice they were not available and would call me back. I have never gotten a call back. They have alreadt billed my credit card, and they do not care about me now, they are just going to keep billing as many customers as they can for the few weeks and then shut down and become another company. They hav been doing this for years I suspect as I found someone wrote about the scam same scam on trip advisor in 2013. I will copy it bellow as it is the same scam they did to me. Oh, one of their representatives went off on me about all the problems in America and our President and was would not shut up for at least 3-5 minutes! Do not do business with this company. They cannot keep their story straight when you start questioning different representatives. And they will eventually just hang-up on you, and I am a paying customer? I have had my credit card cancelled and reported to the fraud department. Luckily I did not sign their contract or give them a copy of my photo I.D. which they strangely are requesting?

Cancun Caribbean Vacations SCAM 2 Jul 30, 2015, 11:14 AM   Thank goodness for the posting on this site on March 6, 2013, regarding the phone scam operation of Cancun Caribbean Vacations. It described how that individual was ripped off by this scam company when they drained the account of his debit/credit card after he provided the number to pay for the too-good-to-be true package they offered.

Apparently they are now calling themselves Cancun Vacation Destinations. I just got off the phone with them after a half-hour or more listening to them do all the things that the poster had described. Fortunately, I did not provide them with any credit card information, although they did eventually get my email address from me. Hopefully, they can't do too much harm with that.

They are slick, smooth and enticing, but what they offer begins to sound more outrageous as time goes on and one resists giving them credit card info. They can be convincing, at least at first. They come on at first with how they are offering two trips to you as a promotion. In this case, I was offered five days and four nights each in an all-inclusive package at a resort in Cancun and another in Orlando, Fla.

They did pretty much what the poster had described. They gave me the entire speal about what all was included, asking me to get a pen and paper to write it all down, which I did. It sounded magnificent. At first I thought they were offering the package for free as a promotion and I'd probably have to sit through a time share presentation, which I wouldn't mind doing for everything I was getting.The trips were for four adults, with kids age 13 and younger free, they said.

Then the price tag came, which sounded incredible for everything offered. They wanted $399 per person for two adults, a total of $798 plus a $79 one-time fee at booking to "pay Uncle Sam." They started by saying my hubby and I would have 18 months to book the Cancun trip and the "bonus" trip to Orlando. When I resisted, the caller changed it to one and a half years and then to two and a half years to book the trips. When I explained that I couldn't make such a purchase without speaking to my husband first, who was at work, they tweaked the trip more to make it more enticing.

Eventually, the caller put me on the phone with another person, the "closer" as the poster had described, who took a harder tact and continued to enhance the offer each time that I said I had to wait to speak to my hubby and that the trip was beginning to sound too good to be true, which made me hesitant to give out my credit card info. over the phone.

They reduced the price to $598 total for two adults plus the $79 one-time fee at booking and three and a half years to book the trips. They threw in a third "bonus" trip to Costa Rica for five days and four nights.

When I said I was hesitant to give out my credit card info. over the phone and could they please send me materials, they told me more than once that I could always cancel the credit card transaction if I changed my mind and they go through a double verification process over the phone -- like that means anything as far as security at my end.

The offer sounded increasing more enticing, and preposterous, and they clearly wanted to make the "sale" now over the phone and not wait until I spoke to my husband. When I continued to resist and asked if I could call them back after I spoke to my husband when he returned from work that night, the "closer" finally muttered something about five to seven business days and to have a good afternoon and hung up abruptly and tersely.

That's when I googled them online and came up with the poster's post on TripAdvisor, which described what I had just experienced. Thank God I didn't give them my credit card information, which I'm sure was all they wanted and they were willing to stay on the phone and lay it on thick until they got it. My message to you: Beware. I also advise you to check out the poster's description, under Cancun Caribbean Vacations SCAM, posted March 6, 2013, at 3:46 p.m.
