Complaint Review: Lennar Homes

Lennar Homes Lived here 7 months. cabinet finishes wiping off, they chose the flooring and charged us nearly $10,000 and it is chipping and the thin laminate surface is wearing off. Third fireplace mante, refusing to provide requested documents, told contractor's board they had fixed our cabinets which was untrue. The report has found them at fault and they want to negoiate with us, gving us less than half of what it would cost to replace and repair. Stonewalling. Cheap ceramic tile, granitd counters not polished smoothly, stained granite, bathroom chipped granite the just want to put bandaid patches on these. The experience has been hellish as we have tried to work with them. Legel counsel has advised us to do small claims for the floor and the board for the cabinets. We will do what we need to do to get these fixed. A terrible, awful, stressful experience and many people in the develpment are havaing the same experiences. This is just the tip of the iceburg, so BUYER BEWARE. AVOID LENNAR! Many places nationally. Ours is El Dorado Hills, California Nationwide

Flooring was chosen by Lennar.  They charged us nearly $10,000 for it.  We have been here 7 months, reported problems last Dec., it is chipping and the thin laminate flooring is simply wearing off in high use areas.  No kids, no pets, just 2 senior citizens.  They want us to color in the bad spots with a crayon.  There are so many spots and are increasing, imagine in 5 years!  They made about $12,000 profit on this flooring.  They will do nothing to solve it.  Legal consult suggested we try small claims which we have done and are to go court in Sept.

The cabinet finish throughout house is failig.  Bubbles in surface are turning into literal wiping off the finsh to the wood!  Plus ours was chipped and scratched when we moved in.  They have been found responsible at contractor's board but have asked for furhter inspection.  Stonewalling.  We will do small claims on this issue if we have to.

These 2 itmes are the biggest, but just the tip of the iceburg.  We were insulted by the local president when he tried to negotiate a financial settlement of $11,000 when he has proof of what it would cost to fix these two things...about $22,000.  Does he think warranted, found to be thier responsiblity  should cost us thousands?

These issues are the tip of the iceburg.  The insides of the house are K-Mart quality at Norstrom prices.

I will stop at this point as it is a sad, stressful, horrible 7 month experience.  We have enve been lied to by at least 2 employees also.
