LensCrafters Purposely scratchable scratch resistant coating Spokane, Washington
I purchased two pairs of eyeglasses from LensCrafters at Bellevue Sq., Washington a few years back. I noticed that the eyeglasses seem to scratch very easily. I purchased scratch resistant coating but they seem to scratch faster than any other pairs of glasses I have ever owned. At that time, my children were fairly young ( five and six). I chalked it up to the fact that they may have scratched the pair that I was not wearing.
I then purchased two additional pairs of glasses at my doctors office. I also had the scratch resistant coating put on those classes. This was a couple of years ago, and I still have no scratches on those pairs Even though I did not take quite as good of care of them as I did the lens crafter glasses.
About a year ago I went to the mall and noticed a pair of glasses at LensCrafters that I really liked. I decided to buy them and once again put the scratch resistant coating on. Because these frames were white, I Did not wear them very often. I was very careful with these glasses and always used the eyeglass Rag that LensCrafters provided for me. These scratched very easily.
I thought this was odd so I asked a friend who was in the eyeglass business what their thoughts were on LensCrafters quality and they said that the scratch resistant coating they put on is actually a coating that scratches off very easily so it looks like scratches on the lenses when the scratches are in fact the SCRATCH RESISTENT COATING SCRATCHing, NOT the LENSE!!
SOMEONE NEEDS to File a class action lawsuit against LensCrafters to get them to stop This deceitful practice.

Just for giggles and grins, I call Lens Crafters at the number indicated by "jamie"
Not only did they not have record of my original complaint, (big surprise there) again, there was nothing they would do for me.
I will NOT purchase glasses again from LenCrafters. I think their busniess practice is shady and deceptive.

This is so strange to see as this is EXACTLY what I experienced. I have had plastic or polycarbonate lenses before and they didn’t scratch up so easily.
I bought a new pair from lens crafters at the Valley Mall and they put the “anti scratch” coating on. Only problem, these lenses scratched really really easy. They are hard to see out of now.
I also purchased the extended warranty, which they did not tell me the duration of the warranty and refused to help me with my pathetically scratched glasses.
I suspect that the original rip-off report submitted from Liberty Lake is accurate.
Lenes Crafters is putting on a coating that doesn’t resist scratching, but actually scratches easier.

That is total BS. I DID CALL LENS CRAFTERS Corporate and complained, and you know what they did for me?
NOTHING. Not a single thing. It was "Oh we are so sorry to hear about your problem and we will make a note of it"
