My experiences with Lensrentals.com has been good & bad.  Upon my first rental and seeing stellar reviews online they "Next Dayed" the lens in a professionally packed box which was returned a week later.  Everything seemed ok and I had fun with the lens during the rental period but then in the next three weeks my mailbox was innundated with mailers & flyers from various companies trying to sell me ever pill, cream & "toy" under the sun.  I was irritated but didn't think the two events were connected in any way, until the second time I rented a lens.

After my second lens rental the pornographic mail started again, this time in less discreet envelopes and from companies such as "Adam and Eve Productions".  I was livid!  It took two months for all the mail to dwindle away but it finally stopped.  I've done business online with several outfits online like Adorama, Amazon & KEH and have experienced nothing but class.  They're true professionals who respect their customers privacy, I however with never do business with Lensrentals.com due to this experience and hope that they will soon learn this is not how a professional company does business.

Amazon does not rent servers

As an employee of Amazon, I can assure you that Amazon does not, as you claim, sublet, rent, or otherwise supply any individual or company with webhosting services.  Amazon has absolutely no affiliation with lensrentals.com's webhosting providers, which appear to be GoDaddy and Dynamic Network Services, Inc.

I assume Eric, you mean well, but it wasn't Lensrentals. First we never sell any of our data, ever. Second our servers are entirely secure (actually sublet through Amazon.com). Most importantly, though (because I understand no server can be absolutely secure), we have 35,000 customers - if this was true, I think one or two of them would have noticed it and said something, but our reputation remains spotless: http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Lensrentals

Again, we have never, ever sold one bit of our customer's information to any agency, nor would we. Eric, if you really are a customer of ours, I encourage you to contact me directly: we have a pretty skilled bunch of computer people who would be happy to try to trace the orders you placed and see if there is anywhere they could have been compromised.
