Lepri & Son Edward Lepri Highway Paving scam, fraud, inferior work, cashed cancelled check Mt. Bethel Pennsylvania
Company called Edward Lepri from Pennsylvani defrauded elderly home owner. Unsolicited offer for driveway repaving - said they were in the neighborhood finishing a job and had left over asphalt. Promised commerical grade paving. Product was interior, patches came up within hours, work improperly done in cold weather (they said it would be fine). Paved driveway so badly that the paving was higher than the concrete by the garage and water will collect there and freeze causing an unsafe environment. Weeds are already poking up through the thin layer of asphalt. Total scam.
Local police said the contractor from Pennsylvania did not have a permit to work or solicit in the town. Provided a disconnected office number.
Other contractor checked the work in the AM and said it was inferior, improperly done, dangerous and a typical driveway scam.
Lepri asked a member of the family to drive him to the bank to cash the check. Bank would not cash it, said they didn't have enough home. The check was stopped the next morning but he took it to a check cashing place that did not verify the check or call the person who wrote it.
