Complaint Review: Leroy Hooper

Leroy Hooper of Cincinnati, Oh represented himself as an impeccable general contractor. We checked public records for any adverse information about him, but found nothing adverse.

We needed some remodeling work done in our kitchen and family room and signed a contract with him for $4800. He wanted half up front, but he accepted 1/3 or $1600 up front. He tore out some cabinets the same day he accepted the money and returned one other day to rip out some flooring and a little dry wall which he left in our yard.

He said he would return early the next day but never returned. We called him several times throughout the week, but he never returned any phone calls. It appears he has completely abandoned the project.

We will pursue legal action after the contract termination date, however we do not expect to recover a dime, but we want to make an official legal record to warn other potential victims. We simply want others to be aware of this heartless Con-Man before it's too late.
