Les Schwab, Aloha, Oregon Fleecing of my wife & daughter Aloha Oregon
This weekend I changed the brakes on my daughter’s 1999 Honda Accord. I’ve been doing our brakes for many years (a couple of decades now). After going through all the steps, including inspecting the rotors (which were fine—I would have had them turned otherwise), I turned the car over to her. Unfortunately the handbrake wasn’t grabbing as hard as she liked and instead of coming to me, she took it to their location on Shaw in Aloha, OR. Instead of simply pulling the handbrake or pumping the brakes several times to allow the self-adjusting brakes to continue to adjust them tighter (as is normal after any brake job) their service tech told her they would have to turn the rotors. Really? It had nothing to do with what was wrong and your shop preferred to fleece her out of a few hundred $ vs. simply pulling the handbrake a few times for the self-adjusters to do their work or, worst case, adjusting the handbrake cable if required.
I’ve been going to Les Schwab for years, and their folks have always been courteous, kind, helpful, and even trustworthy. I’m speechless…
